Recoup the Money (UPDATE)

So we've been seeing a bunch of comments about how the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) is dropping or refusing to press charges for Criminal Trespass after CPD cleared the campus areas.

First up, do we have verification?

If SAIC is out of the process, then guess who is left holding the bag? There better be signed complaints on file or else it's the CPD and City of Chicago.

In the bad old days, the police were used as bouncers and strike breakers by the robber barons. Why pay for muscle when you can have the taxpayers foot the bill?

That is pretty much what happened the other day at the Hamas-hole protest. If that's the case going forward, then Conehead better get the Finance Division to start tallying up manpower and equipment hours and charge the SAIC for the expenditure, because every minute spent there was a minute not spent somewhere else when crime and/or mayhem may have been happening.

They do it for parades, special events, assorted call outs like train derailments - charging for the unforeseen expenditures so taxpayers aren't footing the bill. The City has even sued different companies to recoup money.

UPDATE: Verified:

  • After a weekend pro-Palestinian demonstration at the Art Institute of Chicago ended with dozens of arrests, there is a new twist on Monday night.

ABC7 has learned that the Art Institute is no longer pursuing criminal trespassing charges. However, there is some concern that the incident could be a precursor to what police might face with demonstrators during the Democratic National Convention.

So the CPD is definitely being used as "strike breakers." Time for (A) the City to charge the SAIC for the Officers and equipment used on scene and (B) for the FOP to demand "Rules of Engagement" moving forward so as not to jeopardize members with punitive damages from the City's incompetence.

We need the 7263 team out enforcing the law. Unit 050 is extremely short on 3rd watch and 7263 Sgt FP continues to make excuses as to why his “team” refuses to take jobs to help out 3rd watch. They attended St Jude’s and counted that as their entire tour of duty while the watch had only 7 people working the entire airport. Complete joke !!! WTF will it take for the LT or Commander to wise up and put them in their place !! It’s a safety issue at this point and nothing has been addressed.

First deduct the costs from the paychecks of the ones deciding these things.

Those paychecks are, after all, taxpayers monies.

Then these ones can bill/sue the guilty privates.

Citations don’t require a signature. Also, no felony charges were sought.

As usual, you are correct, even the smart coppers at the airports have wise up and stopped being bouncers for the airlines because they want people thrown off aircraft that are acting up, making them sign complaints why risk anything anymore? It is easily spelled out in the orders follow what they want us to do. Can’t go wrong there no complaints no action.

Like being asked to remove a passenger on a airplane. Don't do it unless complaints are signed by someone in charge.

The bottom line is that the only person in jeopardy in an arrest situation is the arresting officer. COPA is looking for scalps, the various civil rights attorneys seeking the ghetto lottery wins that the officer pays for, and the CCSAO while dropping charges against protestors, will seek charges against officers for whatever they can.

I say screw all the lib/leftist colleges! They harbor these ideologies and fester the anti police rhetoric. Now , after they let this get out of hand they need the police? Take a flying leap! You reap what you sow!

Need to make a mass arrest form for these places have to sign…refusal to sign means we leave once it starts turning south they can figure it out and protect city property in area let them dismantle the place with no turning back and changing of the mind once they start destroying… for these bosses I wouldn’t be telling officers to go hands on with anyone if complaints ain’t signed on arrests we need them for… and officers I’d ask if they were signed when told to by bosses it’s not trespass if no victim.
