There is not that much difference in the numbers except for carjackings, cars stolen & burglaries. Fifty per cent drop in burglaries. Aren't these handled by computer report, 311 reporting (where you wait forever to get connected to call back) no ET response. People get tired of trying to call.

She wasn't, she got lucky. The department was pretty much fully staffed in 2018, ShotSpotter was new technology that was being quickly utilized and people were still doing search warrants. Crime started rising again in 2019. April 2020, at the height of covid fear and no one out, had 60 homicides. Even if the St George Floyd riots didn't happen, crime was trending up and retirement was happening.

It's becoming clear to people now based on the actions in NYC and the art institute that your serve and protect slogan means you serve and protect politicians and their friends. Seven eleven Walgreens they barely call the police. Lowe's got rid of their lost prevention years ago and are told not to intervene at all. etc etc
Every cop knows crime is not down. it is up, and being all but covered up. Thats the current narrative. These are signs of the times we live in.
As far as burglaries go, that is an easy one to explain. Why burglarize residences when you can shoplift and only get charged with shoplifting? It is rarely prosecuted to the full extent of the law. Even if felony charges are approved, the ASA bargains down to a misdemeanor for a guilty plea. Walmart is wide open for the brazen, drug addled thieves we have bred in this country under the current progressive ideology. Why burglarize someone's home? A felony if caught and charged. Just go to a big box store and get a new flatscreen TV. At least, you will get a remote and brand-new batteries.

The public schools do you mean the indoctrination centers look up their transgender teaching it’s right there in a guide on the Internet for the Chicago public indoctrination centers. This “do more with less” mentality is an easy catch-all for managers to fall back on. While it often comes from a well-meaning place, it becomes an alternative to actually managing effectively and providing employees with proper resources.
Burglaries are a disappointment....LOL. Wonder why? Everything worth stealing in most parts of the city has already been lifted over the past 6 years or so. How much more is left to steal in Chicago?
The urban terrorists need to get out to the Cook County suburbs. Same catch and release judges and prosecutors, but a much richer pool of crap to plunder.
Burglaries are too much like real work. That’s why they are down. You have to carry tools, you have to report to work when most people are at work themselves, requiring you to get up sometime before noon. You have to methodically search for the valuables, you have to find a way to wrap and conceal the items to not draw too much attention to yourself as you try to leave “work”. You then have schlep the items home, not easy if you’re using CTA (plus you may get robbed if it’s the Redline). Then you need to additional follow up to fence the items and wait for your payday. The only bonus is you can likely get a lunch break if they’ve left something good to eat in the fridge and a personal in their bathroom.
