Us old timers already had this planned for a few years now. Being on the cusp of retirement there is absolutely zero chance of seeing us down there. The city doesn't care and neither do I.
I don’t know. Given what I’m seeing it should be sufficient. Obviously it will be 12hr days. 2nd watch and 1st watch will man the districts. 3rd watch will be sent to Sox park and Malcolm X for deployment less about 1k 3rd watch officers who will be placed into companies mixed with the tac and PRT teams. There will be 5 companies with 5 squads each that will be the primary mobile force in turtle gear along with the 1k from 3rd watch who will be used for protection, paralleling line of protest marches and other security etc. all the counter terrorism units will be used for security at the UC but also to be in the crowds. There will be a contingent also from ISP in riot gear.. about 100-150. Then you have the RDO cancelled people from all three watches who will again be sent to Malcolm X or Sox park to be sent down to the UC, sent to protests and in busses downtown waiting to chase and deploy to protests etc. that doesn’t include about 450 secret service, fbi and DHS who will be used for security around and in the UC also. I really don’t see much of an issue. There will be about 3500 just from 3rd watch alone down there to be utilized.

The district did a hospitalization case report. Last 3 digits of the rd is 782. I don’t want to post the entire digits for him to jam coppers up that view it.

Ok sarge, but you can't make that decision. You'll go where you're told, or your officers will go without you, while you try to weasel your way out of going, and face discipline for it.

I know a Sgt who was to retire in April, retirement papers in and everything, then was told they had to stay until AFTER the convention in order to collect a pension citing manpower shortages.

Someone should look into why a retired CPD police officer is writing awful comments about fallen officers on the CPD Facebook page. JS was a wagon guy on 3rd watch. It's something you'd expect from antifa or leftists, but a retired cpd officer? Even most criminals don't speak bad about fallen officers. He also made sure to make ignorant comments about all the female police officers during March when CPD highlighted some of them. It's despicable.

It's called an budgeting line number'..If they do not have the 13.5k CPD Officers,those budgeted funds go into a City of Chicago Account that is completely controlled by the Mayor of Chicago..
The Mayor can spend those funds on whatever he or she wants..

And out of that number how many are recruits in the academy? They are counted as9161 but are not sworn or working police officers.
Just 2-3 years ago there were 9500 plus.
