Conflict of Interest?
Chicago is set to have an "elected school board" ....and the CTU is endorsing candidates? Candidates that - if elected - will be nominally in charge of the schools? Not only endorsing, but backing the candidates financially AND making 30,000 "volunteers" available for electioneering work?
The Chicago Teachers Union is announcing its endorsements for Chicago’s first elected school board — a major step for the powerful political force that helped to elect the city’s mayor.
The CTU is not publicly saying how much it will devote to support these candidates, and so far, none of the candidates have reported contributions from the CTU to the Illinois Board of Elections. In addition to money, the union has about 30,000 members who have been key in knocking on doors and getting out the vote.
They already own the mayor (and have the receipts to prove it), so why not buy the other part of the equation and own it all?
Indiana tax cheater Stacy Davis Gates isn't shy about who's running things and for whom:
- “Here in Chicago, Black people, Brown people, working-class people who send their children to the Chicago Public Schools get an opportunity to engage in actual debate about school policy,” she said. “I, for sure, was skeptical more than once that this would ever happen, and I’m just very proud of it, honestly, that people get to do this.”
Hmmmm. Stacy seems to be missing a portion of the CPS community.....

Once the Feds are done investigating great Americans for being Catholic or Jewish or attending school board meetings to make sure their kids aren't being indoctrinated, perhaps turning the Chicago FBI's attention to the CTU would turn out to be worthwhile from a law enforcement perspective. They're spending their dues money like drunken sailors. It would be good to make sure none of it isn't going into the union hierarchy's pockets.

The Trib did an article on the CTU's endorsements for the School Board election and it reads as a Who's Who of Who NOT to vote for, including Jitu Brown. If someone can find out if he actually worked a real job in his life besides being a professional begger and bullshit artist, please let everyone know.

Looks like the Trib has jumped on the 'Kiss the CTU's Ass' train along with Sarah Karp of WBEZ and Lauren Fitzpatrick of the Some-Times (its right some times it's wrong)
Why post a CTU wish list and not thoroughly naming and identifying all candidates?
My guess is Karp and Fitzpatrick have big 4th holidays plans and the CTU spoon-fed them an article to put up and allow them to spend more time sucking down Sangrias and Whiskey Sours with SDG in Indiana.
Leftists always mention these color's, black and brown, even though alot of brown's don't want to be grouped with the black. They never mention white, even though there are plenty of low income whites ie west Virginia, Kentucky, Arkansas, Tennessee, Mississippi and so on. What about the yellows?
In case you missed it, here's a couple other CPS and CTU stories that were getting buried due to Trump mopping the floor with Biden in the debate.
CPS cut 600 Support Staffers, including Teacher Aides (HS diploma/GED required) and many of the Culture & Climate Coordinators and Conflict Resolution Specialist. (You know, the ones that replaced police in schools)
At Thursday's Board meeting, CTU's Jackson Potter bemoaned the lack of Bi-Lingual staffers and the 600 positions cut. He sorta got his wish as those positions cut were reclassified as Bi-Lingual and those people cut can re-apply for them. (Non-Spanish speakers need not apply) The reclassification are a direct result of the increase in migrant students in CPS schools.

Also, CPS just approved a $800,000 settlement for a Hubbard female student that was sexually abused by her teacher (Walter Glascoff)

Hubbard had a run of molesters named Walter at the same time. Security guard Walter Wells was dropped into the shitter after sexually abusing another Hubbard female student.

Wells' gf was a Hubbard assistant principal and she confronted the victim in their lunchroom in front of other students while calling the victim a liar.
The Trib's Betrayed series included Wells and noted his previous work experience prior to being hired as a CPS security guard was working as a delivery driver for an Italian restaurant. (I guess guarding a pizza to deliver is a security gig)

Doesn't everyone here understand? There is a magic spigot in City Hall that just spews out money to pay for everything. It's right next to the magic tree that grows money to be harvested every year. When the schools need more money, they just open up the spigot a little more and pluck a few more bills from the tree. What is everyone so upset about?

Every time CTU backs a candidate, I know who not to vote for. Same for the DSA. In fact there's a whole bunch of left wing organizations that help out in that respect.
I’m so sick of CTU and it’s absolutely one of the top 3 reasons I’m looking to move not just out of the city but state.

My daughter went to a Catholic grade school and a suburban Catholic high school. She did go to a public university in Indiana. My sister-in-law was a CPS teacher and said that was the correct decision even though she works for the CPS.

Time to close schools,CTU said remote learning worked . One certified teacher fo ten classrooms. Have a teacher assistant assigned to rooms to meet nitro students. Save money ,remove principals from schools with low attendance .

Effectively, this would be a variation of home schooling, with oversight by government employees, defined by government curriculums, equipment neccesary for students to have, aka computers/tablets with internet connections defaultly financed by taxpayers, and would substantially reduce physical interactions between students.
The objections on this would be vigorous from the grafters, who are legion in number.
CPS buildings could be sold and repurposed by the buyers of same, as they are mostly quite solid structures suitable for a variety of uses.
Students would still have ample opportunities to develop social skills within their own neighborhoods of residence.
A win-win-win across the board, except, of course, for the legion of grafters.

Jianan Shi's ISBE certs are expired as well, meaning he has no intention of going back into teaching anytime soon. Can he still get pension benefits and credits with expired certs?
