Those 375 bodies would have come in handy, but it would be the height of irresponsibility to send them here and possibly expose their suburban taxpayers to Chicago's horse$hit "justice" system.

All of the alphabet Federal law enforcement agencies will be on the inner perimeter at the U.C. & M.C. Police will be on the outer perimeter preventing anyone getting to the inner perimeters. In essence the police will also be protecting the feds also as they are not going to be dealing with the “protesters”. And if the “protesters” don’t get any traction at those two locations they will target the Mag Mile, Loop & roadways. They want to get the bang for the buck by inconveniencing citizens and getting media coverage.

I don't think COPA has jurisdiction over anybody other than CPD. They've never investigated any outside agency's officers for shooting incidents in Chicago.

If you get injured you are at the mercy of the state workmen's comp. Read the law. There are things you can do as part of an active on duty investigation and things you cannot do. It is not because your certified. It is because of what the statute allows.
Thats because you conducted an investigation. Regular officers can only effect arrest in "police districts". Any suburb that has a border with Chicago can effect arrests in Chicago. Its considered a police district by state law. DuPage officers would need arrest powers granted to act as Chicago police to arrest protestors etc. The State does certify everyone. Your police powers don't necessarily allow you to conduct arrest in other jurisdictions unless its fresh pursuit, police chase into city etc. This is covered in ILCS. PLEASE READ

The Calif CAMP program made a lot money for Cal National guards. I was a contractor for the feds and had seven National Guard soldiers assigned to my group. These were senior NCO back in 2005. With per diem and locality pay these guys were pulling down over a 100 grand, or so they told me. Hard work, but kinda of fun. We were all sorry to see CAMP go away.
