Teamsters Fading

Remember when the Teamsters used to be the union everyone feared?

The Outfit ran entire chapters. If you weren't negotiating contracts in an appropriately "generous" manner, they'd strangle your job site. Crossing a Teamster picket line was an open invitation to broken limbs and skulls. If you didn't join their ranks, your equipment might catch fire. And if your former president tried to stage a comeback against their wishes.....they still haven't found Jimmy Hoffa.

But now?

  • For the first time in nearly three decades, the International Brotherhood of Teamsters won’t endorse a candidate in the presidential race — a blow to the Democratic Party, which has reliably received the union’s approval for years.

The Teamsters confirmed the decision not to endorse Wednesday, as the union’s executive board met in Washington and voted on the endorsement.

See, what happened was that the Teamsters promised everyone that they were going to do top-to-bottom survey of their membership and make the endorsement based upon the outcome. The result?

  • Trump 60%, Kackler 35%, other/undecided 5%

That was kind of embarrassing, so they ran an extensive phone survey instead, calling union stewards, union halls, the reliable political class ever-present in a union. That result?

  • Trump 60%, Kackler 35%, other/undecided 5%

Knowing that if they endorsed Trump based on their members' votes, the blue state governors would start making life difficult for them, they took the cowards way out and endorsed no one, claiming neither side represented their members' interests....which is a lie.

But they did release the results of the survey. It's all over the place. And they'll probably pay a price for that at the next union election.

But in the meantime:

  • Why is the Horse on the logo for the Teamsters? Only animal that can sleep standing up
  • How may Teamsters does it take to change a light bulb? Three, you got a problem with that?
  • What do you call a Teamster in a 3 piece suit? The Defendant.

It's the end of the unions that originally were good for the members. Just ask the greedy UAW that just put the final nail their coffin on that last strike.

Worked at UPS for a few years as a package handler(loaded delivery trucks and later trailers). Union collects a initial fee on all new employees and a weekly fee. With the huge turnover at UPS initial fee is a huge cash cow. There is unbelievable medical benefits after nine months (used to be one year). But of course, run through a union operated administrator, No idea how much gets skinned off the top. I never had a union rep talk to me. The are there to make money off the new workers and protect the awful workers.

The teamsters aren’t the old school union they used to be. They have become a second rate outfit. Disgrace and a real disappointment.

The democrat party is what's fading. The party of the elite and the cheat. You think truck drivers want their kids exposed to the shit they're teaching, their daughters run over playing soccer by a mentally deranged boy? Not a chance. It's not just economics anymore....

Teamsters had no choice to sit out. Democrats to soft on crime but helps unions with strong pay the other choice is a rambling idiot with good ideas but can't deliver.

I always find it amusing that Crook County corrections deputies fall under the teamsters union ! Would be nice if there was a way to get them to fall under the FOP umbrella some how !

Some guys who are a little longer in the tooth might remember the rank and file was thinking about dumping FOP and going over to the teamsters.

I don't believe in unions. I believe in 100% free market capitalism. Unions are a cancer upon society. Unions prevent free market capitalism from working. We are all individuals and this nation was founded upon individual liberty. Each individual should apply for a job and accept the conditions of a job offer. Don't like it? Look for a better job or upgrade your education and skills.

P.S. - I decided to opt out of paying FOP dues. Call them and let them known you don't want to be a part of the union.

Unions................ major money-laundering operations for the DIM-o-cRAT party. Always been that way, and will unfortunately continue unabated.
"Teamsters" ha! Gangsters.

True, CO’s are the only ones; Court service deputies and sheriffs police are FOP. Court services deputies have not had a academy class in about 15-20 years, the vacancies are filled by corrections officers who request to go to court services, because corrections are in Teamsters and court services are FOP the correctional officers lose all of their seniority, so in a lot of cases you have CO’s who request the transfer to courts with 20 years on and they have to go back to the academy for a couple of weeks and start all over as far as vacation bidding and facility’s bidding as if they are brand new. When the sheriffs office laid off a bunch of deputies a couple of years ago some of these CO’s with 20 plus years on were laid off while court service deputies who had less time than them kept their job. Makes no sense why they don’t just merge with court services and go FOP to be one stronger union.

Forget the Teamsters, who is keeping an eye on JCat and the FOP 7? There are a lot of happenings going on there that should really rouse one's suspicions, here are a few:
- He changed the bylaws so that he, and his board members who retired on the board, have paid insurance until they reach Medicaid. (JCat needed this as he retired before reaching 55)
- He won't show the expenditures or receipts of $ spent, claiming its nobody's business
- JCat is now the publisher of the monthly FOP magazine. How much $ is he paying himself for this position?
- He is now on the State FOP board. kind of ironic for a guy who said he would only be Lodge 7 president until we got a contract.
- Nearly every time he makes a Friday video, he's in some remote place. Who is paying for these trips? I'm sure he's flying economy and paying out of his own pocket (that's right, we can't see the receipts, so we'll never know!)
- He is backing his buddy Lonergan for Pension Board, his lacky DS is the treasurer of the Retired Police Assn, how many fingers does JCat intend on putting in the pie?

Last union president to act this way and take these sort of actions was Pallohusky, and we know where that all ended up. I'm telling you, something really wrong is going on here, and an investigation into the Lodge, its expenditures, and board members is long overdue!

Teamsters had no choice to sit out the election. Departmnt Of Justice would start indicting the leadership of the Teamsters for crimes or for imagined crimes. For siding with Trump. Remember when the teamsters when they supported Reagan, Ted Kennedy passed laws that hurt teamsters via enacting laws that deregulating trucking. Resulting in numerous union trucking company s going bankrupt.
