How Bad is Crimesha's Office?
So bad, that a guy, caught impersonating the police on multiple occasions, acted as his own lawyer in court the other day....and beat a (supposedly) college educated litigator....AGAIN!
Robert Ellis, once again accused of impersonating a police officer, has won another big legal victory over the Cook County state’s attorney’s office.
Acting as his own lawyer, Ellis successfully argued that Cook County Circuit Judge Carol Howard should toss out his arrest and the evidence against him in a 2021 felony police-impersonation case accusing him of posing as a cop outside Guaranteed Rate Field after a White Sox game. Howard argued that the Chicago Police Department didn’t have probable cause to stop him.
Earlier this year, Ellis, 66, got Howard to throw out the evidence in a separate, 2018 fake-cop case, which prosecutors later dismissed. In that case, he’d been accused of posing as an official with Kankakee County’s Pembroke Township police department, even though there’s no such department, according to prosecutors.
The judge bears a bit of the blame here, too. But we assume she went to college and got some sort of degree, too.
The cops did an excellent job supporting their Reasonable Articulable Suspicion:
- an illegally parked car with municipal plates
- the car is a Mercury sedan, not a Ford
- the ID presented looked like it was run off a copier
- a quick internet search revealed no such police force in existence
- the search also revealed a previous arrest for impersonation
And the judge let him go with an admonishment of "You have to stop doing that." This is his third arrest for pretending to be a cop.
Vote "No" on all judges, every single time.

Judge Howard? She's one of the best and brightest that Prickwinkle has.
So if you go to calumet college you can become a gold star. And if you go to john marshall junior college of law you can be a assistant state's attorney. You aren't dealing with real law school grads at that office so what do you expect?

SCC, this is a rigged game. The judge in this case made Judge Hooks (thank God he's gone) look like a prince. She is so incompetent even a blind squirrel could see it. This is nothing more than throwing a case to Judge Howard that the powers that be don't want a guilty verdict in. She finds no one guilty. The question to be asked is, how many jury trials are in Judge Howard's court room???????? My guess is ZERO!!!!!!! The most idiotic public defender would take a bench trial in her room with an admission of guilt and the crime on video. She would still find a way to give a not guilty verdict. This clown found his way into her court room more than once for a trial. That is all you need to know!!

Such a shame. I still can’t figure out that there was no probable cause. Wrong plates mean cuffs go on. Next step is identification. Investigation revealed false identification. That’s probable cause for arrest.

Carol Howard is the worst judge in the building. You know the fix is in when exoneration cases go to her court room. She lets everyone go. Very defense minded and not very bright.

Carol Howard is by far one of the worst judges to sit on the bench. A good investigative reporter (we don’t have any anymore excluding CWB) could dig into her rulings. Murderers walk free in her court room!
You don't need a law degree to get elected as a judge. But, you do need one to be a State's Attorney. Obviously, any old law degree will do.

I am sorry to disagree with you, but CH is not incompetent - she knows exactly what she wants to do and is able to do it. The real problem is the Presiding Judge over there that let's this tomfoolery go on.
That is w why I voted No on all 245 judges and hopefully everyone else wakes up and does the same.

I believe I ran across this guy when I was working in 007 back in the late 90's. He was posing as a RR police officer and was arrested at 63rd Ashland. He had a piece of land in some south burb and laid 50 feet of track and declared it to be a railroad. He got away with it for some time
I had many encounters with this guy in Homewood. He was the self anointed Chief of Police with Beta Christian University. 2nd Floor small office. That's it! He was arrested for UUW, however, a judge ordered his case dismissed and I had to give his 9MM gun back to him. Oh Well!
