Cop returns fire after being shot at:
- New details have emerged about a police shooting that left a man
injured inside a Brighton Park bar over the weekend. The information
comes as prosecutors charge the man, 36-year-old Fernando Guzman, with
attempted murder and other felonies, saying he fired a gun at Chicago
cops before an officer returned fire, striking him in the head.
Guzman, 36, remained hospitalized as the allegations were presented to Judge William Fahy at the Leighton Criminal Courthouse.
We're thinking that there's a TV show in the making here, with that County Sheriff nailing his guy five times and the CPD Officer almost - but not quite - finishing off this waste of protoplasm.

You just have to wonder about the ammo used? I wonder why he was hit and the ammo didn’t work. I’m not a gun girl but how do you get hit unless it was a grazing wound and still live. We need to know more. I watched a lot of the experts weigh in on the Trump shootings and learned a lot. Just trying to understand it.

If you hit a person in the torso with a standard 9mm bullet, you have about a 55%. Chance of killing them. If you use hollowpoints or other improved ammunition, the chances are higher.
Either way, you have to hit them “center mass” (spine) to put them down quick.

They don’t want old school real policing. Chasing bad guys and if need be putting them in the ground. It's crazy that even officers in good shootings are now being recommended for termination. It seems that we have to get shot just to prove lethal force is justified. Is there any course of action officers can take to stop COPA from being able to operate with impunity?

Next step is that they will try to decertify Fernando with the state board and make sure he never is the police again. They are evil no good woke driven lice. The Supt recommended 2 days and the board and Copa want to fire him. This is just more of that witch that runs Copa making up her own interpterion of the general orders and adding on to them on a perfectly good shooting. Bring the arbitration on. Another reason why no one wants to be the police anymore.
Anyone that is even remotely thinking about doing police work needs to read this article and watch the body can footage from the officer that day. This is as good a shot as you are ever going to get, and they are still trying to fire this officer. It’s beyond absurd. The guy turns and runs at the officer while pulling out a gun. If you can’t shoot someone in that situation, then how can u possibly police.
When coppers are murdered the city wins TWICE. No futre pension payments and no shithead lawsuit settlement. No honor dying for this city anymore.
How can any commanders look their officers in the eyes and ask them to bring in anything after seeing this. The officer did everything right and this is a good a shoot as you’re going to get without actually getting shot first AND they still want to fire this poor copper. This is unbelievable.

Imagine working for a department where the bad guy pulls a gun on you in the midst of a foot pursuit and they recommend firing you because you didn’t “de escalate.” Think bad guy forced his hand on this one…. Nope. Officer should've begged and pleaded for him to drop it. Just give it time. Soon the policy and law will change to, “Can only fire if fired upon.”

No futre pension payments? Only if the deceased officer has no spouse, no children and no Momma of which the deceased can be proven to have been the sole supporter.
