but !! but !! crime is down,,, the border is secure, the Illinois "safe-t act" is keeping law abiding citizens safe, and property taxes will go down since there are less and less prisoners to feed and give medical care to,,, right??
Did Mayor Johnson ever find the root cause of these homicides like he said he would?
It’s the same out in the southwest suburbs, every night. Evergreen Park, Burbank, Oak Lawn. Cops can’t seem to catch anyone, yet the noise resembles U.S. 30 Dragstrip. Enough noise to wake the dead, meanwhile the taxpaying residents are stuck putting up with it, while once again, the assholes aren’t punished at all, and the Cops, who are paid by the Taxpayer-Residents, do little or nothing, because the half-drunk politicians don’t give a fuck as long as it does nt affect them.

Its a commonly accepted business practice in Chicago. It passes both the Calea standards of policing and is in compliance with the consent decree. Democrat lawbreakers in Springfield acknowledge that the Safe -T -Act, when effectively enforced, is essential in achieving a desired outcome.

I used to get really depressed when December hit and heyjackass reported murder numbers below 600. I just knew December is a very slow murder month and not due to the Christmas festivities but rather the arctic temperatures that dude is deathly afraid of. This job has changed so much that not even the sight of a laid out gangbanger can cheer me up at work anymore. This job is 99% boredom and 1% regret.

Are they counting all of these fatal Hit & Run victims as Homicides? Definition of a Homicide is one person causing the death of another person. Are they using “Fuzzy Math”? Asking for a friend.
So disappointing.
At this point, it doesn't look like we'll even make it to the 10-year average (615).
Given the Safe-T act, the Crimesha/Evans revolving door for felons and CPD being badly understaffed and over-regulated, I thought for sure we'd be getting back to the good old days of 900+.
Oh well. Like the Cubs (and Sox...and Bears...and Bulls...and Hawks) fans always say, "Wait 'til next year!"

Paramedics and ER Drs are much better these days. People who would have died 20 years ago are walking out of the hospital after a couple of days.

The Mayor, Superintendent of Police and Chief of Detectives would never allow this to happen, even though on the statute books it is a criminal offense to deliver a narcotic to someone and that person dies from ingesting that narcotic. The mayor, superintendent and Chief of detectives would literally implode with the thought that every overdose was treated like a homicide. The numbers would skyrocket and therefore shine a spotlight on a problem that the democrats do not want to address. There simply are nowhere near enough detectives to investigate who sold the drugs to every overdose addict "victim." Old Chief Brendan once told the media that CPD would start investigating more overdose deaths as homicides, but BD is smart, tell them what they want to hear and then they, the media, moves on to another topic. Like trying different toys for a cat.
