car chase ended in a shooting and crash in Chicago.
Cicero and Chicago first responders went to the scene of the crash at West Roosevelt Road and Cicero Avenue in Lawndale just before 12:30 p.m.
Witnesses said a white car was chasing down a black car from Cicero when the black car crashed into two other vehicles at the border in Chicago.
Cicero PD was giving statements, while CFD was doing transports. It makes us think Cicero is eating this one.

would-be victim tried to gain control of the weapon on Saturday
afternoon, Chicago police said.
Police initially responded to calls of three men beating a man on the ground in the 1500 block of West Garfield around 2:51 p.m. First responders soon learned that the subject of the beating was also the robber, who had been mortally wounded by a gunshot, too.
Obviously, not an intended homicide, but more like a FAFO killing.

Cicero did take the paper for the homicide. 011 & 015 posted units to assist with crime scene due to the size of the crime scene. I’m sure we’ll make it to 600 with another good weekend of shootings.

Speaking about on schedule: does anyone know if the Sgt results from part 2 are out? Rumor is 50 -100 sgts and detectives and LTs classes starting soon and would be nice if part 2 was graded to start the new list.
Also anyone know how many vacancies there are open from PO on up? Hate to lose these vacancies on the new Budget. Also are we going to get a 2025 promotion calendar like we did in 2024? That was spot on!

Cops need to chase scumbags running away. They're clearly guilty of crime(s). If an accident occurs, that's 100% the fault of the scumbags, not the cops.

Cicero took the paper and the ME placed it in Cicero as well. As for the one on Garfield, CPD has it listed as a 0110 for the time being but we'll be listing it as a self defense homicide regardless.
We're currently 21 homicides away from 600 with 22 days to go. Our recent pacing would have us wrap up the year with just over 600. A few resolved death investigations and/or found bodies will add to the totals. On the total people shot side, we're about 140 shot away from 3,000. We'd need about 6-7 shot per day from here and that's not looking very likely given recent trends.

Yes the forecast calls for some frigid ass weather so hopefully we can count on a Venezuelan quadruple killing party or a blink of an eye Richard Speck-like murder spree to boost this fine city up and over 600. Just don’t make it soon to be nurses make it gang members, please.

Good point. The only crime that tends to happen at subzero temperatures is gay Hollywood celebrities getting accosted on their way to Subway for a sandwich by MAGA Nigerians at 2 in the morning.
OT: My Union buddy told me the reason the express /reversible lanes on the Kennedy is taking so long is because the City promised double and even triple overtime to make it drivable for dignitaries during the DNC. They have yet to pay the construction company, hence the “soft” strike. On my commute to and from work, I see no progress being done. If only we had some investigative reporters left in Chicago.

Scc. Please raise awareness to the fact that the latest sgt test results have not been posted. There is a matrix that shows sgt promotions are next month. Even the last batch of promotions came from the "old" list and there was plenty of time for the new list to be released. I personally think I scored well and they are intentionally withholding the list due to the wrong names being in the right slots. I'm sure I'm not alone.
