Another $5 Million Gone
In addition to the eight "deputy mayor" spots ($189K) and seven "assistant deputy mayor" spots ($147K) costing taxpayers more than $2.5 million per year, Conehead is set to spend another $5 million on a completely separate bureaucracy dealing with convicts:
Mayor Brandon Johnson’s 2024 spending plan earmarks $5 million to create a new department designed to help those returning to Chicago from jail or prison find jobs or other assistance as they work to rebuild their lives.
The newly created Department of Reentry would have a budget of $5 million and four employees charged with helping formerly incarcerated individuals in Chicago get what “they need to thrive in this city,” Johnson said at a news conference on Tuesday.
“This has been a long-term demand for years,” Johnson said. “Only in this administration is this investment being made. So, when I said we could take care of everyone in Chicago, I mean it.”
This kickback scheme is the brainchild of former convict / current aldercreature Walter Burnett. A four person office with a budget of $5 million is ripe for corruption. What do you need for this Department?

Even if they're making "deputy mayor" salaries and buying their furniture from wherever Stacie Conehead gets her chairs from, there's still more than $3 million on hand for what? Cars? Parties? Airfare to some bullshit government conferences? Bribes?

There are already agencies that do that. So it’s a redundant and I’m sure a cronyism department at best. It’ll end up being just another “unofficial reparations” job with them giving city jobs. I know a guy who manages a Walgreens. I don’t know if they still do it, but Walgreens had a hiring program for felons. He said without fail they’d steal the place blind.
Figure the x-cons require a nice hotel to lay his/her/he/she/it’s head, three square meals a day, clothes, personal hygiene, personal phone for Uber rides, a credit card limit, spending cash for booze, drugs, companionship, etc, et. Oh and teach these re-entry level future employees how to “code”.

I have a job for convicts returning to the workforce after prison: train wrangler. They just have to jump on the tracks as the train approaches and try to catch it. This will lower the crime rate by eliminating the chance they will commit new crimes, while also decreasing the unemployment rate. The best part is the job will always be available, because it's damn near impossible to wrangle one of them there trains. Now give me my share of the $5 million.

Reentry in Illinois is monitored by IDOC and is called mandatory supervised release which consists of mainly a parole officer and standard programs and procedures. So let’s throw more money at something that already exists makes sense if you’re from Shitcago
The Chicago public school to cook county jail pipeline has added a $5 mil dollar pipe.
So here we are. We are spending $39k a year for maybe 12 years more money each year than a university of Illinois college tuition to put a student thru school that ends up unable to read or do math.
The CPS to prison pipeline starts with a crack pipe. We buy police choppers to chase criminals around to "bring them to justice". The justice of the peace then places a so called electronic monitoring ring on the offenders and sends them on their way to repeat their crimes. There's no monitoring it's all a farce. There's no deterrent.
Then if and when a conviction is ever issued and prison time is sentenced at the end of that and after spending $39k a year for 12 years on a failed system it's determined we need a re-entry program that has partnered with some unheard of school to "educate" the person via a $5 mil office.
What's next?
How about the re-entry office put the ex-con up in a j.b.pritzker luxury hotel you know until they get back on their feet? They need a place to stay while they go to the fake school and receive the fake diploma and finnaly get a city job as a community activist violence interruptor to hang out with the same criminals they grew up with.
