So mere days after the City gave away piles of taxpayer money to a dead asshole who got shot after he shot a Chicago Police Officer, guess who got caught with TWO guns?
- One week ago, the day before Thanksgiving, lawyers quietly filed a two-page stipulation to dismiss a lawsuit at Chicago’s federal courthouse.
According to the paperwork, the city has already reached a settlement agreement with the estate of Dexter Reed, the 26-year-old who was shot dead by Chicago police officers after he opened fire on them during a traffic stop on March 21. The parties agreed to refile the case only if the City Council rejects the deal, which is not detailed in the filing. By law, aldermen must approve settlements of more than $100,000.
Three days after the filing, shortly before 6 p.m. Saturday, Chicago police officers arrested Reed’s 25-year-old brother after they allegedly found two loaded firearms inside his SUV during a traffic stop. He was arrested, charged, and released to await trial without incident.
Amazingly, since this guy followed police orders, he didn't get shot. He must have been the smart one in a family of assholes.
He also didn't get held without bond for having two guns, one of them stolen and the other forbidden to be in his possession due to a Domestic Violence arrest. But hey, Crimesha had to get her last punches in against the unjust system.

So word on the street is someone wrote a letter and sent them to 006 commander, captain, DC SB and possibly snelling. Stating they had no faith in their commander and that if the officer that died was black he would have attended the services and he's not a leader. Good ole commander couldn't bother attending anything for one of his fallen officers. Officers in 006 still don't know why he didn't bother showing up. Well boss man was livid and decided to go to roll call and say I'm here talk your shit and went off about how he's been lenient about beards, pants, shoes and earrings. He says again talk now don't hide cuz said letter was anonymous. He continues to say to buckle up cus it's about to get worse. Boss man assumed this letter came from from 3rd watch in 006. DC SB says yes and how he plans to be more strict and people working inside will go outside. How does one assume an ANONYMOUS letter from your watch when it could be from anyone?
Speaking of problem families, can we talk about the problems with the 6th District family; namely their leader Commander Taint. It’s not bad enough that he missed his fallen Officer’s wake and funeral without offering an explanation to Officer Martinez’s friends, family, and coworkers, now he has berated and threatened the 3rd Watch for not buying Christmas party tickets and for an anonymous letter of No confidence which was sent to various bosses. He has threatened to begin SPARing officers for minor infractions as well as violating contractual rights by not approving CU time. I retired at the beginning of the Covid shutdown and no one told me that I would be receiving an insurance card with a different ID number for my retirement coverage. So I was notified by a doctor that I had no insurance coverage. Panicked communication with the City and BCBS led to them quickly sending my new card. Please check if this is the case with your coverage as well.

When I retired they cancelled my insurance and issued me a new card with a new number. It was the same coverage, just under a different number.
That's because we are stupid and keep being be proactive... no one to blame but US... or them, because I stopped that being proactive a long time ago.

You will get a new insurance card in about 6 weeks after you retire. Same plan, just a slightly different number. You are no longer on the city plan but you are on the retiree plan. That is why your "city" plan was cancelled. Just have your provider resubmit the bill when you get your new plan number. No biggee.

They are running a large deficit now. How do they cover a 28% increase forever (or actually until the next contract increase)? Their answer is to get the state to cover the increase; however, the state is broke also, so it's not going to happen.
28% raise is not bad for a job that is 9 months a years with a 10 day absence policy that is frequently exceeded. Child care problems? Illness problems? Class control problems? The suburban teachers have the same issues and survive on a LOT less.

I gave Tate too much credit. I thought that he would’ve brushed something like that off of his shoulder and continued to be there for his officers. Part of being a leader is being able to take the high road. You can’t react to every little thing. Showing up to roll call, threatening officers and making a fool of yourself.
