Two Hundred Forty Four
Even with a one-day holiday "reprieve," the city grabbed a sizable number of cars parked on snow routes:
Hundreds of unhappy car owners filed into the city’s impound lots on a bitter cold Monday to retrieve wheels that were towed for the start of the annual overnight winter parking ban.
The city issued an unheard-of, one-day reprieve on Sunday, giving drivers informational flyers instead of tows on the first night of the ban.
But 244 drivers were still caught unaware Monday morning and found their vehicles towed, according to the Department of Streets and Sanitation.
That’s slightly less than the 263 vehicles that were towed last year on the first day of enforcement. The winter parking ban is enforced 3 to 7 a.m. from Dec. 1 to April 1, regardless of whether snow is on the ground.
So 244 cars times $320 for tow, ticket and one day storage is just over $78,000.
How many days of Conehead grooming does that work out to?

244 cars towed not a speck of snow to be found! The Chicago way!
$78,000 dollars? Wow, that's like a couple hundred luxury hotel stays for illegals....for one night. Fuck this city.
In all honesty that’s not really that much. I remember when I first got on the job 22 years ago the amount of vehicles we impounded from the shit heads far eclipsed that number. Has things gotten so bad that even the mayors office or downtown has forgotten the amount of revenue lost by De-policing. Shit I don’t see any of the newer generation of officers impounding cars like we did back in the day. Truth is no one’s even teaching them how to do it and I get it I’m just saying it’s so much opportunity lost.
Or the First Lady can redecorate 🤣
Products of CPS not able to read the flyers
Fun and games in the big city.
Someone will do a study...WBEZ, Slum Times...that most were on the South and West sides, don't cha know!
Well can't say they weren't warned!!! Even though they probably will!!!
It's 78k people don't have for food, clothing and rent. It's criminal.
$78,000? That's Pritzkers weekly lunch tab.
Assuming only one day of storage is very generous of you. A lot of cars have title and registration issues. Those cars are going to be in storage for a while before they are released.
The police should not be policing for revenue.
So 244 cars times $320 for tow, ticket and one day storage is just over $78,000.
My neighborhood carjacker only charges 150 to steal it back from the city...
Cities across the country have winter overnight parking bans. If people weren't so stupid and paid attention to life, they wouldn't get towed. And these same people vote.
Karma never forgets.
57 years ago you could find couches and kitchen sets on the streets.
