Winter Parking Ban Night!

  • Chicago’s winter overnight parking ban begins 3 a.m. Sunday and so will the towing of vehicles parked along the prohibited routes.

From Dec. 1 to April 1, vehicles parked on the more than 107 miles of streets between 3 and 7 a.m. will be towed.

While the ban primarily is meant to ensure that streets can be safely plowed during snowfall, it is enforced regardless of the weather.

It also enforced to the tune of 200 cars, give or take a dozen, and a minimum fine/fee of $235.

The media is always asking questions about "quotas," they ought to look into the Streets and San / tow company quotas starting in about three hours.

Does this mean the folks/people of the "Community of the Perpetually Aggrieved" will have their vehicles towed and actually have to pay the towing and storage fees??? How will they get to work?? Oh, they work from home.

Not pd…. Just a question. Is the city a safer place if streets and san towed towed then sold cars (Plates & other BS) Streets clear, new revenue. Driving is a privilege?! Also ,,,,,makes patrols easier ... More clear streets….more clear patrols.

Doosh-Hurst stepped on his micro penis again. Heard the big bald head from public trans was overheard saying after DeVries makes him merit Lt there will be big changes in that unit. The other supervisors know he sucks and pray for his promotion to somewhere else

That used to be a fun might. The ghetto would erupt when they woke up and find their ride gone.

I’ll never understand how the City can get away with this? All the reasons they claim but there’s no snow to contend with. Towing cars with not a flake on the ground and none in the forecast. Total assholery!

Obligatory lyrics from Steve Goodman:
To me way, hay
Tow them away
The Lincoln Park Pirates are we
From Wilmette to Gary
There's nothing so hairy
And we always collect our fee

I have always thought that the first night of this parking ban, Street and San should put a flyer on every car, but do not tow the first night. People just forget about it. Give the citizens a break, which is saying a lot for this town.

What are they going to do to the knot-heads if they decide to flatten the tires on the tow trucks? They don't, won't, or can't jail or convict anyone. Streets could get real congested waiting to clear tow trucks and the attached cars.

The fair thing to do would be issuing a ticket December 1 if it isn't snowing and after that towed, but that wouldn't be as lucrative would it.
