Use them efficiently without soaking taxpayers with more costs.

We really could use one of these new "DOGE" offices here pointing out how much money Chicago has been pissing away for generations. Or maybe even an investigative reporter or three.

A "redundant, bureaucratic money pit" is one of the main platforms of the Democratic Party. It is one of the constants of the universe, like Pi = 3.147, the speed of light = 186,000 mile per second, and the Cubs will always be more popular than the White Sox.
How about getting rid of redundant departments and using that money to fund pensions for the workers who remain?

What they should really look at is why this department needs all these captains and above. Pretty top heavy to say the least.
