County Corruption?
A story from nearly two years ago gets new life courtesy of a federal lawsuit:
- A Cook County Sheriff’s Office investigator is suing the agency,
Sheriff Tom Dart, and the county, claiming that she was transferred to a
less prestigious unit after discovering possible misconduct within the
sheriff’s office, including ghost payrolling and misuse of resources.
Sgt. Nicole Pagani alleges sex discrimination, retaliation, and
violation of the state Whistleblower Act.
In a federal complaint, Pagani says she spent a decade as a senior investigator working on internal affairs cases in the sheriff’s “Criminal and Confidential Unit,” known as Squad 4. Her lawsuit says she received top secret FBI clearance and joined a federal task force, which brought perks like an FBI take-home car and up to 778 hours of overtime per year as she investigated “cases deemed confidential in nature involving high-ranking members” of the office and sworn officers.
But Pagani claims that all ended a year ago when her boss retaliated by angrily “demoting” her to Squad 3, transferring her to a new office, and ending her federal collaborations. Pagani seeks compensation in excess of $2 million and reinstatement to Squad 4 and the federal task force, including all associated benefits.
We're just shocked (not) that it took how many years of investigation to discover ghost payrolling and illegal secondary employment at County. The entire organization is riddled with political hacks, payoffs, crooked contracting and over-salaried hiring to people related to the media so Dart gets good coverage in case he aspires to higher office.

It always seems to be the females suing for whatever reason. CPD has had several who won big pay days because they suffered an inconvenience, getting booted from a plum unit.
She owns a home with the Exc. Director of Investigations at the CCSD. Looks like trouble in Paradise. Thought for a minute it might be legit .

Sounds just like CPD when IAD/BARZ went after the officers who identified a corrupt CPD tact Sgt and his team. The fact you are a whistleblower does not make any difference! The fact is, the Department will go after you! That’s what BARZ did as a Sgt. in IAD? Then you will be transferred and demoted. And the chances you will be terminated or forced to resign just to save your pension? Instead of them investigating the Corruption?
That’s how BARZ was promoted since he had to keep the CPD corruption silent and the orders he was given to go after the officers reporting the corruption.
It then turned into the Lieutenants promotion scam with the Superintendents wife and other bosses girlfriends passing the Lieutenant Test and BARZ being passed over and BARZ anonymously ratting them out to get his bar?
If they did not promote BARZ he would show the media how CPD covered up the past corruption in IAD and Command structure. Your get what you paid for? Right Mike? That’s why they never put BARZ back into IAD, He is on Brady list?
Just read the transcripts from BARZ when he was deposed and then testified in open court or Police Board. About his time in IAD, every time he says something it’s confirmed as a lie? The only one who lies better is Debra Kirby, the Wicked Witch of the 5th floor?
This is why there is COPA and IAD since they cannot trust either unit? They are both corrupted? If the Illinois State Police integrity unit came to CPD they would have exposed this corrupt system of bad investigations? And why FBI/DOJ has walked away from looking into CPD. Just look who is running IAD now? You have got to be kidding?

But write them letters to the editor demanding an accounting of "violence prevention" programs, remind them in writing that not one single incidence of violence has been proven to be prevented for the 10 of millions of dollars over decades and they have no interest.

Dart was warned about his alleged corruption extensively. But then decided to target person warning him. That office is run by Lucifer greatest assest, now serpents are in competition. Do one about CPD and how they handle people's cases from making them resign, firing them or even having themselves self-delete. Expose the corrupt and non-sense in CPD's 5th floor.

Dart really believes he can run for Mayor now. Media can only do so much when millions political adds nonexistent in Sheriff races hit the airwaves. Paul Vallas took some political shots at him and Preckwinkle last week. Dart reportedly just hired Vallas campaign manager who allegedly was misappropriating campaign funds under Paul's nose. Kicker, he was reportedly fired from Sheriff for seriious misconduct years ago by Dart. You can't even make this stuff up. Feds need to investigate that office. Hopefully, this is a starter.

When the illustrious Mobile stroke force was up, I went to the FOP with solid proof that I was being discriminated against and a witness to some unscrupulous policing . I work for CCSD and this is much bigger than a disgruntled employee, the Sgt unfortunately pulled a thread that unravels a serious whole Cook County/ Dem Party Sweater. This could get really interesting with a new Dept of Justice. I wish her well, she’s well liked and solid person.

I don’t think this is true. Dart won’t sign off on guys in corrections ( including those that work in the jail ) because he doesn’t think that they are the Police even though everybody else does. We all know that Dart is an idiot but his position on that proves it. God help Chicago if Dart ever becomes Mayor. He’s the only guy that would make Brandon look good.
