Typical Illinois Government
Remember that "crackdown" that was supposed to start happening on that expressway approach ramp to O'Hare where all those driver's park, waiting for flights to arrive?
- A crackdown was supposed to start this year, fining drivers who park
on the shoulder to wait before pickups at Chicago's O'Hare International
Airport.
Cameras were supposed to be installed under a new Illinois state law that just went into effect. But it turns out the law is not being enforced — and email exchanges with state agencies uncovered that the cameras were never even installed in the first place.
What's the point of passing a law that no one has any intention of enforcing?

They pass stupid laws all the time to make it look like they're "doing something."
Look at all the duplicitous and unnecessary laws they pass, and even some of the names, e.g. "Criminal Sexual Assault." Is there a non-criminal sexual assault? It was merely a feel-good name.
"Vehicular Hijacking." Remember when there was a rash of these? The Illinois Legislature "did something" about it! Wasn't something called "Robbery" on the books back then however?
And we have a huge collection of laws on the books that aren't enforced/charged. Does anyone get charged with Class X felonies anymore? We all know the felony murder statute is dead, at least in Cook County.
Cameras not installed?
Hmmm… that sounds familiar.
Follow the money. (It was either ronny luberman or masters-masters-masters. I can’t remember, it’s been a long time)
Never going to happen. Democrat politicians love not enforcing the law.
The first person who gets a ticket should sue the crap out of Gubner Fatness for arbitrary and capricious enforcement of laws.
No way. Democrat crooks failed to perpetrate another revenue scheme. They cashing in on red lights. Why not devise a parking violation scam and use technology to give government more money to squander and waste.
One of the most worthless laws that was passed. There is plenty of room for cars to park in that stretch of 190 ramp. It's a very wide area and people usually put their hazards on and patiently wait to pick up loved ones.
Head over here we have Tubby, the governor calling out President Trump for mismanagement. Here is the king of mismanagement the governor of Illinois the mayor of Chicago, who support criminal illegals yet they’re gonna call this man out you talk about hypocritical and the mayor is scared to go in front of Congress obviously Because he has no plan. He can’t even talk the same same as the governor. https://www.fox32chicago.com/news/pritzker-dc-plane-crash-trump-statement
They can make a lot of money doing that, why not have speed cameras on the expressway and Tollway’s there is literally hundreds of millions of dollars just waiting to be collected. You don’t see state troopers out there anymore so you might as well get that revenue they could use that to put into the pension funds For the police which are needed a massive cash infusion immediately.
yep,,, just like the laws and rules about giving a Chicago mayor gifts,,,, they must be recorded and placed in a secure room for the i/g office to inspect any time they want,,,, yea,,, just like that
It's the Illinois way.
I knew it!
What’s the point of passing a law no one will enforce!!! You Know!!! To Make It Look Like They Are Doing Something.
To blow smoke up the publics arse!
Call a prees conference, try to pat himself on the back, if he can reach it!
Something Pritzker is good at.
Follow the Money! There is corruption in there somewhere at the highest levels.
“What's the point of passing a law that no one has any intention of enforcing?”
As Ayn Rand wrote almost 70 years ago:
“Did you really think we want those laws observed?" said Dr. Ferris. "We want them to be broken. You'd better get it straight that it's not a bunch of boy scouts you're up against... We're after power and we mean it... There's no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren't enough criminals one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. Who wants a nation of law-abiding citizens? What's there in that for anyone? But just pass the kind of laws that can neither be observed nor enforced or objectively interpreted – and you create a nation of law-breakers – and then you cash in on guilt. Now that's the system, Mr. Reardon, that's the game, and once you understand it, you'll be much easier to deal with.”
What 'problem' is this solving? What is the number of accidents caused by this practice? Most likely, it is simply some politico thinking, "Eh, I don't like this."

Find something more important to bide your time and energy .How bout the billions in unfunded pensions and the grift in the state government
Which connected diver(s) use that parking for themselves?
People park on the side of the highway because the cell phone lot at OHare is just too small. There is no room and only one way in and one way out and then you have to circle around and around. Only porta potties which are always dirty. It is and has been a mess for some time. The city can do better.
WTF, we can't wait for our loved ones at the terminals, they got rid of the waiting area next to airport's outside parking lot, and send us well away from the terminal campus. Are there really that many (or any) accidents caused by those waiting on the shoulder? Smells like Brad Stephens and the pols are only looking for another way to get into our wallets.
Cars on the shoulder THEMSELVES, probably fine. Cars on the shoulder with traffic flowing.... absolutely not a good situation. Between cars getting hit that wouldn't have been hit or heaven forbid a pedestrian hit, cars on shoulder is awful. Add snow or bad weather to the mix, it's the reason we have laws. Isn't there a lot literally off an exit to sit and wait for plane? It's laziness and people will get hurt or have been hurt.
Hahaha, oh SOMEONE definitely got paid, just don't know if they did anything WITH the cash after.... it's illinois, what else is new?
There was a dedicated lot at O'Hare for cell phone pick ups. Now they blocked it off and it sits empty.
I worked the airport. It would be futile to really enforce it. First off theres the problem of enforcing parking violations, which they are. The tickets would be easy to beat just by saying your car over heated or fucked up in some way and then you got it going again. Sending a cop out to write parkers is futile because theres no way I'm getting out of the car on a highway. And the political hacks, rightfully, see votes going the wrong way because "everyone" at some time parks in that spot. Its like the sausage machine of parking violations and fat ass knows it.
Gun laws they go insane ...
Tiny Dancer says...
...you mean...The Chicago way...
Progressive-liberal governance equates to inept incompetent near absent government effectiveness, with exception of draconian silencing of its critics.
Umm you mean like shoplifting? Property crime? Uuw by felon? Mvt ? Psmv? Stuff like that?
only trucks with trump flags or bumper stickers will be fined says the fatman
Like immigration laws?
Illinois governor bans all J6 defendants from state employment.
Pritzker will be sued into oblivion.

How do you sue the crap out of anyone for passing a law, especially camera law
Wanna know how bad the Illinois government is? Remember it's the conspiracy that's the truth in this case. https://www.illinoiscourts.gov/Resources/2139d232-ccff-4954-964c-bc991ffee58a/2180814_R23.pdf
They pick n choose who gets tickets, who doesn't... arbitrary and capricious.
They don't need speed cameras, they can just use the IPass and use the times
That’s correct , politicians pass laws to appease publichate crimes, vehicle hijacking . Just charge with the appropriate crime and use strict sentences.
It is a weekly occurance for me to pick up my bride at ohare. I always thought to myself these morons parking on the shoulder should be ticketed.
But after further experience, I have determined there is really not many options...during the busy rush of landing airplanes, there is no where near enough room in the cell phone lot. At the same time, if the lot is over filled it can take well over 10 minutes to get out of that lot due to a terrible exit plan there metered by a traffic light that does not favor the lot.
They should not ticket anyone until they fix this problem.
