Buy This Kid A Lottery Ticket
A 4-year-old girl survived a fall from the 10th floor of a South Side building earlier this week, Chicago police said Thursday.
The girl fell from a building in the 4500-block of South Drexel Boulevard in Bronzeville about 10:50 a.m. Tuesday, police said.
She suffered a head injury, and was taken to Comer Children's Hospital in fair condition, CPD said.
Must have been the softest ground ever for this kid to have survived.
No word on charging the parent(s) yet. We've seen tons of others charged for less than this.

Babies fall out of windows alot in the hood with little to no injuries.... due to faulty latches on windows, broken screens, rough-housing siblings. Most occur hough from 2nd and 3rd floor windows. 10th floor may be a record.
Dix call 'em Bouncing Babies.
Will the media follow up on this story in 10 years? They would really be interesting.
Speaking of lottery tickets, has anyone else seen Ernest Cato and his daughter on the reality TV show The Amazing Race??
When I was in 15 saw a few of these but nothing like that height of a fall. Little kids lean or push against screen on open window and gravity takes over.
I surmise their lack of fear lessens rigidity and they don’t have that oh crap moment adults do when we know it’s gonna be bad.
Based upon the address, I predict no charges against the parents
Just like the swallows of Capistrano. Every spring children fall out windows in Chicago.
A girl @ ISU fell 18 stories out of Watterson towers back in the day and lived! Everyone played Van Halen s JUMP!
The family will sue the apartment complex and management company for not properly securing the windows and will win the ghetto lottery.
Did she land on bushes?
There were three cases in WW II of air crew who survived bailing out without a parachute. https://militaryhistorynow.com/2025/02/27/freefalls-meet-three-allied-airmen-who-fell-to-earth-without-a-parachute-and-survived. One hit a snowbank, one a glass roof, and one tree branches.
Just a Civilian (whose dad fortunately never had to bail out at all)
They got sent packing>
Spring Grove Apts will be paying the lottery winner.
God, why would we want to do that?
It always helps to land on a non-vital organ.
Must have been the softest ground ever for this kid to have survived.
Back in the day, They fell from the projects all the time and walked away.
You left out the most important cause of these incidents: shitty parenting. Without that, no babies would be falling out of windows.
Back in the 80's, I was chasing a teenage dude who bailed out of a vehicle taken in an armed robbery. He ran into the building at 64th & Lowe and up three flights of stairs. Thought I had him trapped in the hallway when he jumped from the window and I swear to God, hit the ground running and got away. As Common sez "They aint like us".
