Firefighters Have Lawyers
And they've preparing for a lawsuit that could prove lucrative to firefighters and costly to taxpayers:
Punitive damages against these idiots would be good news, too.Labels: fire fighters

Fuck you....pay me.
Yes, punitive damages, please. In addition to or conjunction with the city having to write a fat check.
Give the rotten cocksuckers something to think about every time they look at their checkbook, open the monthly statement for the HELOC they took out or the line item on their paycheck showing the deduction/garnishment for the award granted or settled upon.
Please, please, please… hammer these motherfuckers. Make them list assets and sweat having to budget for kids’ college, summer homes and alimony and child support.
I envy these guys… would absolutely love them trying this with me. I’d insist my attorney went for punitive damages even if doing so ran the risk of a lower penalty assessed on the city.
I wish they could get punitive damages against politicians and bosses.
Kick their ass CFD, I hope the city get roasted aka Backdraft style. You don't play with fire you could get burnt.
Good luck
Can’t get a contract but looking for a handout and the dirtbag law firm will reap the rewards
Fuck you ! Pay me!
the fire dept. has just hired hillary for her expertise on destroying government e-mails and servers and not being charged with a crime
Nicely done.
Good thing they don't have fop otherwise nothing would be done just like the contract
Ohhh I thought they had "Probably cause?" As stated becore you cannot search an employee parked vehicle because someone said there is something inside. Its an illegal search.
wow a letter from a lawyer .. I'm very scared
This will go nowhere, do you think for one minute the Dems judges will let this proceed ?
You are an idiot . Nobody is trying to scare anyone . $$$$$
Are these lawyers getting paid up-front? Also, has anyone who is affected bothered to do some research to ascertain if these searches are allowed (contract, rules and regulations, employment conditions, and so on)? There is a good chance (for all of you challenged people, this means a probability—not a definitive conclusion) that these searches are legal and/or properly justified by a backstory. Although the city employees might be reckless and open themselves up to a lawsuit, that is not likely to happen in today’s climate. One question that you guys have to entertain is why are the inspectors going in “lock and loaded” with so much bravado? Sure, the law firm will continue to take all of your money for fighting the situation, research, advise, office expenses, and so on. And in the end you guys will lose the fight anyway. I do not have a dog in the fight; so, I am not doing the work for you. And, yes, be prepared for the informal repercussions for initiating the lawsuit.
But what is going on with the OEMC Dispatchers? Are they getting fired? Has anyone started a “GoFundMe” initiative for the dispatchers. We are all blue. We need to stick together and help out the dispatchers.
Signed,
The OG Cop
Question, could this be a civil rights violation under the color of law, i.e. a federal crime?
Why are they dirtbags? Sounds to me in this case they are on the side of the angels.
I smell a Civil Rights violation here, 4th Amendment at least. So, as "their attorney", I would file the lawsuit in Federal Court. If you haven't noticed, all the previous U.S. Attorneys (Democrat) either were fired or resigned. Better chance in Federal Court than the Democrat judges in Crook County. I would get my popcorn with butter ready.
great work fire fighters sue the living sh-t out of them i work in 016 and have dealt with the fire fighters from that station all great dedicated fire fighters
also i believe this racial you need to file a reverse discrimination suit also
Ahh, I think a FEDERAL CIVIL RIGHTS lawsuit jambed up the City of Chicago’s ass will fit nicely!!! City of Chicago/ CFD exempts/ IAD aka: DEFENDANTS!!!
I hope you Fire boys receive a million a piece and bankrupt this city!
Thanks for the word salad bud
If you go to CityofChicago.org and type firearm in the search field, you will get the three page City of Chicago firearm policy. It says nothing about searching cars.
You can keep repeating this incorrect information, and changing various parts of it to try to make yourself right, but you'll always be wrong. Law enforcement can search a vehicle solely with probable cause, with no need for a search warrant. It's a fact, and it happens every day, with no rights being violated, no charges thrown out due to an illegal search, and no cases lost due to lack of a search warrant. Pretending someone said "probably cause" to make yourself feel smarter doesn't make it true. Pretending someone claimed random employers can randomly search employee vehicles doesn't make you right. Pretending consent searches don't exist won't make you right. You're not the police or you shouldn't be. Just use Google and you'll see that you're wrong. Ask a lawyer if Google confuses you. Ask a real police officer next time you're pretending to be one. Probable cause is all that is needed for law enforcement to search a vehicle. Do you know how you get a search warrant? You present your probable cause to a judge, who then issues the warrant if you have probable cause. Do you see any familiar words there? Probable cause gives the right to search, with or without a warrant. Probable cause that exists to search a vehicle doesn't magically disappear or not count because it wasn't on a search warrant. Probable cause searches and arrests happen every day without warrants. If police needed a warrant for every search, as you seem to think they do, no police work would ever get done, and no one would ever be arrested. Judges would have no time to actually handle cases, since they'd be approving search warrants for every vehicle that every officer in the county searches. You actually think every vehicle search is the result of a search warrant? That seems reasonable to you? Please stop spreading your ignorance.
Wouldn't probable cause be searching one specific car due to the disgruntled person's tip, vs searching everyone's car thus crossing the line into 4th Amendment violations? What were they looking for? Aren't these items legally allowed to be secured in their personal vehicles regardless of the property's prohibited status?
It says this on page 3:
The City reserves the right to authorize searches for prohibited weapons on its property
when a violation is reported or when probable cause or reasonable suspicion is present.
Refusal to permit such a search may result in discipline up to and including discharge.
They'd need probable cause or consent for each vehicle.
You need that information for cases like that McDonald case ? Who called who, all copa records on high profile cases , who called who ?
