Defunding the police appears to be creeping its way back into the Democrat Party zeitgeist after slinking into the shadows for several years. But early indications suggest the results will be just as disastrous for liberals as they were the first time around.
Earlier this month, the Washington, D.C. police union raised the alarm over an order from Mayor Muriel Bowser which would cut police overtime and freeze new hiring as part of $400 million in planned budget cuts. Critics of the move will see it as a revival of left-wing “defund the police” tactics, while the police union has said it will “jeopardize public safety and hinder our officers’ ability to protect and serve our communities effectively.
DC, San Diego, Portland, and of course, Chicago:
It’s the same pattern over and over. Liberal politicians understand how toxic the defund the police brand is, even with loyal Democrat voters, and so they’re trying a new trick: cloaking their anti-police activism in “budgetary” concerns.
In some cases, however, the mask has come off and Democrats have been openly hostile toward law enforcement.
"openly hostile"? What we wouldn't have given for "openly hostile" instead of nickel-and-diming the Department to death with over-regulation, imaginary "consent" decrees and lord knows how many oversight committees. It would have made the last decade of our careers smoother.

They WANT disruption. They WANT to burn down our society. When is the last time you heard a democrat praising the U.S.? It's a religion for these people.
They might ACT like something that you and I would think is horrific occurs, but when your goal is to destroy, they consider it a win.

Make working conditions so fucking miserable you get the older higher paid officers to retire early and the younger guys to leave for other departments. When word spreads about how shitty the department is, no one applies for the job. Then the city claims they can't hire anyone so those positions remain empty. The city then cuts the department budget and says the positions were unnecessary since the department can still function normally. Remember to take your 3 mental health days when necessary boys and girls....the long hot summer is coming

Since this is what they want, let them have the city they want. Do no more than answering radio calls and take your time getting there unless it is a 10-1 to assist other officers. Protect each other at all costs and most importantly GO HOME AFTER EVERY SHIFT.

You don’t have to defund the police. Simply offer insurance to Officers with 20 or 25 years regardless of age. You would have more than enough volunteers to leave.
Government Unions would be exposed, we'll at least to the ones in denial, that they are one of the biggest and deepest financial pits.
