Gov. JB Pritzker will announce his campaign for a third term as Illinois governor on Thursday, sources told the Sun-Times.
The billionaire Democrat who has dominated Illinois politics since supplanting Republican former Gov. Bruce Rauner in 2019 had long been expected to try to extend his tenure as he mulls a 2028 presidential bid.
Pritzker will make his third consecutive statewide campaign official with reelection campaign kickoff events in Chicago and Springfield. Invitations went out to supporters early this week.
But it’s still unknown whom Pritzker will tap to join him on the top of the ticket as lieutenant governor. His current second-in-command, Lt. Gov. Juliana Stratton, is vying for the U.S. Senate seat that Sen. Dick Durbin will give up next year.
It takes a lot of energy to put that tub of lard in motion.
And so far, the republicans haven't fielded a viable candidate, but that's to be expected when they're just part of the theater of Illinois politics.

Speaking of staying put, what happens if I get caught living in a suburb (Part 2)? I do not deal with any of the Chicago drama, while I am off work. My kids go to great schools (some of the best in the country, better than the private school that some of you send your kids to). My kids are making great connections with people who are principals of multiple car dealerships and other businesses. If I get caught living in a suburb will the people at the FOP do their job and fight the city so that I do not get fired? As a bonus, I do not even buy a city sticker.
Pritzker still has work to do. He has not yet completely destroyed Illinois for the welcomed illegal immigrants.
In order for the state or city to have term limits, the elected officials have to pass a bill requiring term limits, and that would be voting against their own interests. Never happen in Illinois. Just like Chicago will never reduce the number of alderpersons.

When I moved to a red town, I realized that I agreed with everything our Mayor did. It was strange at first, but you get used to it. Whenever I visited Chicago, I realized that nobody in that town is ever happy with the leadership and never does anything about it. What can you do? Not much but make an exit plan.

If a camera truly adds 10 lbs, then he seems to have lost quite a bit. I think his people told him to lose weight if he was going to run for president because not only is the campaign physically exhausting, but he was probably told it did not look good to the American people or the world to be so big, you broke a bone in your leg just by standing. And then, Rahm screwed it all up by hinting he would run, so JB backed off. Granted there are issues with Rahm, but at least he appears to be against all this woke nonsense, like boys in girl's locker rooms.

The last president of the FOP , Kevin Shields had a house right outside of city limits, in Norridge I think. He kept an apartment a few miles away and made sure he slept there every working night. This hit the front page of some shit newspaper in Chicago and the city couldn't touch him. I knew other guys that have done this and the city can't do SHIT to you. Just look at the president of CTU who claims her main residence in Indiana. Now this is quite stupid. As a renter your main residence is where you sleep. The other place is just property you own. Like a cabin in the woods or elsewhere. On your days off/ furlough you can stay where you want. You can still visit and have dinner with your family as your time dictates. It'll cost you a few bucks but if you get a roomate(s) you can live with,and a good suburban school system you won't have to pay for schools for your kids. As a special benefit, you also get to avoid your wife. If your married this alone might be worth cost of the rent...
