Weekend Numbers
We had speculated at six dead and fifteen maimed for the weekend - a combined twenty-one count.
In actuality (all stats via HeyJackass.com):
- three dead, twenty-four wounded
Twenty-seven, so not too far off, but the second number was kind of surprising. We thought crime was down what with Conehead bragging a few weeks ago.

If they want less Police Officers in Chicago I have a solution. Give the tier 1 Officers the medical after 29 years and day even if they’re not 55 years old. You get a handful that would retire.

This is off topic regarding the loss of Officer Krystal Rivera on June 5. The FOP has no mention of the services, her picture. It's like it never happened. FOP couldn't take time to honor her with a picture and services scheduled.

Chicago has been disappointing me lately. They don't make the gang banger thugs like they used to be. Just ten years ago, those murder numbers would be 300-500 by now. A hot weekend like this would of been 50 killed back in the day.... I'm very disapointed in the criminal community for not showing initiative anymore. Perhaps the weed and blunts they smoke 18 hours a day, while driving around the streets, safely of course (LOL) calmed them down too much.

The NYC election is a rank selection process. That means that the you make several selections and then they can add up if any candidate does not get more then 50% in the first count. That means that the second place candidate will have the other fringe candidate votes will be added to the top candidates. Which means that the socialist has a real good chance of winning.
Age plus years of service equals a certain number gets you medical.That is what other unions like people’s energy does but FOP plays dumb when the subject is brought up. No member with 20 years should receive better medical benefits than a member with 32 years.

Yeah it’s crazy that someone who works for 20 years and is 55 years old gets medical but someone with 30 years on can’t get the medical because they are somewhere between 50 and 54 years old. We really need to fight to get this changed next contract.

Someone made the comment about leaving at 20 and a day and getting medical and a pension. They’re already leaving at 20 and a day getting medical and a pension if they’re 55 years old. That’s the point it’s not right that they get medical at 20 years and someone with 30 years can’t because he’s not 55 years old. Let that sink in guys and gals. This should be priority number one come next contract. I don’t think I’ve ever heard FOP acknowledge this? It should be an easy win for the membership.
I agree, why would anyone think someone with only 20 years on should be entitled to medical just because they’re 55 years old? My guess is that someone with clout many years ago benefited from that. Right now you give up 3.5 percent of your pension for the medical. How about keep it at 3.5 percent if you have 29 years on and are 55 years old. If you have 29 years but not 55 years old make it 5 percent. Same with someone who’s 55 years old but not at 29 years on the job they should also pay 5 percent. Sounds reasonable and I think the city would go for it?
I think the homicide numbers are so low because we have an overbloated staff of 500 cop instructors in both police training academies teaching for an hour a day for an 8 hour class. It's like tag team instruction. That's better than a part time job! Jealous, I think i may apply to this gig! Them showing a slide show for 45 minutes and going home after their module is up is hard work....while the "students" in class are sleeping or texting because its so damn boring. Cops need E.A.P. counseling after one of them mandatory courses all sadly forced to attend. But thank God for the teachers and their supervisors, as they are keeping the murder numbers down.
