A man sporting a tattoo across his throat reading “SLIME,” on parole for his third adult gun case, has been charged with possessing yet another firearm in the moments before Chicago Police Officer Krystal Rivera was unintentionally shot and killed by her partner on June 5.
Jaylin Arnold, 27, was arrested for a parole violation on Thursday by officers from the Chicago Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force, CPD said. Arnold had narcotics when he was arrested, according to CPD.
Further investigation by CPD’s Investigative Response Team revealed that Arnold was armed with a firearm when Chicago cops, including Officer Krystal Rivera, encountered him in the 8200 block of South Drexel around 9:50 p.m. on June 5, police said.
It's far past time to bring a version of Project Exile to Illinois where gun offenders serve hard time in the federal system far from home.

We *know* how to do this. We’ve done it before, Project Exile being one of the most blatant examples.
* Hire more cops, and train them correctly. Hire so many cops that they have time to do useful in-service training consistently. In other words, “Re-Fund the Police.”
* Every single felon found in possession of a firearm gets a speedy, Federal trial. In Project Exile, private attorneys were volunteering to serve as Federal prosecutors for these cases.
We know what to do. We just don’t have the political will to do it.

The academy is a joke, you have exempts in charge who know nothing about tactics or being a street cop. The friendly fire issue was brought up during a use of force hug a thug class. Of course nothing was done about it. Stop putting people that have no experience in the academy as instructors. Get the right people in there, otherwise this and the obscenely low hiring standards will lead to many more blue on blue shootings.

There are many people who should not be the police and yet here they are. Maybe because of clout, maybe because of manpower numbers, who knows? But believing this does not make it a conspiracy theory.
