This never should have risen to the level of getting gigged by an inspector. She never should have been allowed to leave roll call without showing her proper footwear to a supervisor. No Sgt or LT saw this? older officers? (I have talked to young coppers), her partner? I know coppers (men and women) with all levels of TOJ who would have told this one to unfuck herself before hitting the street with her.

Not one leader took command of this problem. All someone had to do was tell her, hey, you forgot your work shoes/boots at home? Either borrow a pair from someone or go home and get yours, you are a safety concern and you make us look unprofessional. Even if the car was down for 1 hour while she went home and got her boots, her life or anyone elseās life is surely worth more than just an hour. Itās a shame that this department has become so shitty that she couldnāt even ask a supervisor to go home for a uniform adjustment. I agree & Iām a woman who likes pink, but thereās no need for wearing pink on your uniform. If not being able to wear 4 inch nails, red polish, long hair, 3 inch lashes, pink accessories, full face of caked makeup , dangly earrings, high heels etc makes you lose your off-duty femininity, maybe you shouldnāt pick this as a career. I was cute when I came on 30 years ago. I didnāt do any of the stuff I see these young women do now. Youād get shit from some old timers simply for being a female. I'm a retired sergeant. I told a sergeant I know that I never see beat tags. A sergeant I know told me they aren't required anymore. I did an internet search and found the order saying beat tags are required. He then told me they just don't enforce it. And that's why you have coppers wearing Crocs.

Everyone has this all wrong. She is part of the unit that tests new equipment in the field. She is testing if crocs are comfortable at work, if they prove effective at cutting down the number of foot chases we engage in, if they inhibit vehicle pursuits by slipping off the gas pedal, if they cut down on the number of TRRs because it's hard to fight someone if your shoes keep falling off. The department is looking out for our safety and well-being by keeping us safe and out of lawsuits. Hopefully soon, all of us will be wearing crocs to work. You go girl.
