CFD Threatened at Firehouse

We're sure this is just another "isolated incident:"

  • A crew of auto thieves pulled guns on three Chicago firefighters who confronted them as they broke into a fire department member’s car outside an Avondale firehouse on Thanksgiving morning, according to Chicago police.

The attempted theft unfolded shortly after 7:15 a.m. outside Engine 91’s station house in the 2800 block of North Pulaski Road. A police report said four men were breaking into a firefighter’s Dodge Charger when three members of the firehouse walked outside and approached the crew.

The burglars responded by flashing handguns, prompting the firefighters to back off. The crew then climbed into a waiting SUV and sped north on Pulaski Road.

They did not succeed in stealing the firefighter’s vehicle. No injuries were reported.

Even the aldercreature had something to say about this one (click to enlarge):

We're kind of surprised one or more of the firefighters didn't have a gun handy. We knew dozens who carried to-and-from work. Maybe there's a side-job opportunity for off-duty cops?

Since the brass demanded to search for weapons in cars parked in the firehouse lot last spring, there's an active reason not to carry, even in your car. All it will take for them to start that nonsense again is another moron dropping a dime trying to save their own skin for something unrelated.

It's been a long, long time since people (and folks) had much beef with the firemens. But the jackals are growing bolder, earlier this year they had a couple of paramedics jumped for their wallets when they responded to a false call. Luckily for them it was a neighborhood hype and not demonized yutes, so they were able to produce a couple of blunt instruments and chase the hype off.

The aldercreature is posturing, he knows nothing will be done. Maybe have cars swing by, or a Sgt swing by or have a car assigned to sit on the station, while everyone is out on a call. But ultimately, this babysitting is the best effort that can be expected of the City. As long as Springfield loves no bail more of the same will occur.

Good for Gardiner for putting this out. This is not his Ward. Now let's hear from the other 49. The powers to be need to take action on the roving bands of car jackers/robbery teams armed with automatic weapons. No-one is safe in Chicago except Mayor BLM Brandon and his personal detail of140 bodyguards.

Everyone knows you cannot safely have anything nice in the City.
For years, I worked with a youngin who drove the ugliest Chevy with the ugliest green paint you have ever seen. The minute you saw it, you would laugh.
He often stayed with his mother, who owned a house in one of Chicago's lesser neighborhoods.
He said even parked inside the garage... you know...
Sometimes he would park at a friend's house and take the bus down.

The fact is, an alderman is in a position to change some things like how or whether the police are proactive or not. Change how the department will react to proactive policing if you want to see some real change.

Correct. Citizens aren’t safe, they only care about their coffers. I live in unincorporated cook county and my normal beat cop always tells me about being vigilant, cameras, carrying a pistol. He says the county is throwing resources at the city from downtown to Chatham to train burglaries, but the
Area we live is infested with gang violence and shootings every other day. They don’t care unless it’s their money being affected

Thus, politicals are known to be as such, by their actions and inactions.

Their actions being always manipulative and deceitfully so.

The authentic definitions of same are abundantly displayed here, in our wonderfully transparent region of these creatures so boldly going and doing where so many have gone and done before.

The tool in question was invented by a NY Firefighter named Hugh Halligan in the 1940s. He sold them as a side gig after FDNY initial refused to adopt them officially. East coast firefighters would buy as private purchase from him, so tool took on his name.

Not sure how it came to be known exclusively as a “Chicago Bar” here, unless there’s some key design difference b/t ours & the east coast version.

Gas line itself is under high pressure, so, not old school method of putting a valve in line, closed it blocks the mechanical fuel pump from pulling the fuel from fuel tank.

These days, it's all in fuel tank high pressure electric fuel pushing the fuel, controlled by vehicle "computer", called a few different names by the various manufacturers.

Two methods come to mind: physical toggle switch in wiring or vehicle software mods where possible.

Physical toggle switch can be either to wire powering in tank fuel pump or to wire powering ignition.

With all the pc like new shit, the motor is still an engine and the three points of why isn't the bitch starting are the same: fuel, spark or fucked up mechanicals.

Good luck.
