Is it just us or do they roll this out whenever they need a distraction?
- No just new hires. Sergeant in area four detectives division was just stripped yesterday for faulty PPP Loans
They could strip dozens tomorrow if they wanted, but better to just drag it out for years.

Clock started when fraud was committed; Biden signed a bill setting a 10-year statute of limitations for PPP loan fraud. PPP loan bill itself was signed in March of 2020. Plenty of time to get the fraudsters charged.

We can only hope they'd be stripped, but isn't decision left up to the Pension Board? I seem to recall a few cases where various bosses (burbs) committed felonies and they got the pension taken away. However, this is Chicago, wasn't Kenny Johnson allowed to retire, keep his pension and only got 6 mos probation for stealing his mom's SS for 20 plus years after she passed.

Stop assigning sergeants who are connected or “friends of the commander” to the Areas when they have no legitimate reason to be there. Bring in sergeants with actual detective backgrounds and have life experience. And, for goodness’ sake, conduct at least a basic background check.
Right now, the detective division feels completely backward: supervisors with zero investigative experience/detective background are overseeing investigations, and unsurprisingly, they’re not earning any respect as a result.
A 20 year Sgt makes 143k + 8k in quarterlies. A 20 year Det makes 136k. Many of you can’t read a pay scale chart.
Ha ha, this guy is worried about sergeants in the D Unit when the majority of Dicks can’t write a whole sentence. Break out the red pen. You can count the guys on two hands that actually were proactive officers and regularly testified in court. D Unit, where cases go to die.
