2025 was another banner year for Chicago media. Over the past year, what news consumers experienced in Chicago was more overt political bias in ostensibly neutral news media. Business as usual for Chicago’s print, television, radio, and digital media figures, in 2025, reporters continued to demonstrate their utter intolerance with opposing views and became less trusted to separate fact from fiction in the delivery of the news.
Whether it was covering up or whitewashing Mayor Brandon Johnson’s incompetence and mammoth failures as mayor or throwing a tantrum at Department of Homeland Security agencies enforcing immigration law in Chicago, in 2025, Chicago media confirmed their intent to serve as a protective chrysalis for politicians and groups they favor.
It was once a non-negotiable duty to maintain a strict pose of neutrality in the reporting of the news. However, instead of asking questions and learning a story, media figures in Chicago persist in their habit of creating news. With Chicago media simply disinclined to fulfill the core journalistic duty of telling the truth or holding powerful people accountable for their actions, contributors to Contrarian have collected some of the most egregious examples of biased journalism in Chicago for 2025. While some reporters profiled here are regulars, in this installment of “Worst in Chicago Media,” there are some new arrivals, including our worst journalist for the year.
The Contrarian starts there, and then names names along with cited examples of the worst of Chicago "reporters" and their so-called "reporting."
Media trust is at an all-time low across the country and the Chicago media is doing their part to demonstrate that just when you think they're at rock-bottom, they find a shovel and start digging a basement.

Chicago media, and national media for that matter, aren't interested in reporting facts. The majority are leftists at heart and are serving as operatives for the democratic party, shaping the news and furthering the left’s agenda.
Enumerating the numerous media defects does not begin to address the corruptions paying them.
There are no journalists in Chicago media. The major outlets are dead piles of rot.
The concept of journalism has been abandoned by opportunistic jellyfish doing the bidding of socialist masters who have neutered debate, discussion, objectivity to cull favor of an. Elitist class of people who despise our republic and what it stands for.
Imagine if just one news media reported the truth 🤔🤔

To a point, Unfortunately the Contrarian brings up good points, but all their articles are long winded and go off the rails , often. The writers need to learn how to write more effectively.

The news media started heading downhill once that "comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable" thing caught on. And they're not even very good at that.

Just look at the suntimes, they have a major case of Trump derangement syndrome! Their agenda is hate the republicans and the police and report on anything to make them look bad whether it’s truthful or not.

Media is 93% negative against current admin. Doesn’t matter what topic, it’s just “against”, period. The latest body in MN wasn’t even cold yet, and our IL guy FatAzz was out making statements. Jazz Hands Walz and SoyBoy Frey keep inciting the libs - hard to understand people motivated with enough hate and vitriol to protest for hours outside in -25 below temps to keep criminals and grifters in their state. Propaganda machines working overtime. Truth has no home in the MSM.
I grabbed a copy of what I presume is his most recent - brilliant writing, and I can see why he saves it for print rather than put it online where the libs will try to pervert his message as "racism" or whatever. Thank you CC for saying what the rest of us are thinking!
