Late Friday night, House Democrats voted to raid $4 billion from the law enforcement and firefighter pension plan to cover the multi-billion-dollar budget deficit they created.
Every Republican in the state House voted against House Bill 2034.
Democrats plan to deposit $569 million in the Climate Commitment Account.
No idea what their pensions look like, but given it's a blue state and lousy with panti-fa supporters, we imagine it ain't the greatest - and now it just got worse.

We better make sure what safe guards we have in place here to prevent that from happening. Also why only police and fire pensions, how about the teachers, laborers and civilian office workers pensions.
Fake climate change. I recall a cold winter this year and a hot summer last year it’s called SEASONS. Remember the acid rain threat of the 80’s? Remember the ice caps (no ice caps) melting threat? Remember a hole in the fake o zone layer threat? All resulted in more taxes and less freedoms. Every serious scientist will tell you there is no climate change but they listen to Greta Dumbberg.

“Washington's Climate Commitment Act (CCA), passed in 2021 and enacted in 2023, is a market-based program that aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. The CCA is the state's primary policy for emissions reduction and is the second such program in the US.”
A major scam by the Democrats that has no science based proof of what they say.
Just a transfer of money to their connected organizations and the globalists. Al Gore predicted a lot of things that would occur with climate change that never came true, and he is still out there with the politicians and globalists peddling more lies and people believe him.
Notice the Democrats did not vote to take the money from their own pension plans.

From what I read is the pension fund is over funded to a degree that taking $4 billion still keeps them around 96% funded.

Absolutely disgusting! Freighting! Democrats can’t be trusted to manage money. The federal government needs to take over all first responder pensions otherwise it will be very difficult to get anyone to do the job. To risk your life and then get fucked over in retirement is unconscionable.

That shouldn’t be a reason to take from it. The pension is half contributions from the state/city/county (as promised when getting on th job) and half is an employee contribution. Let the employee decide if anyone can “borrow”
what safeguards are you talking about? Look at the Police Pension Fund, there is no transparency. The fund was raided by former Mayor Daley's Nephew for millions of dollars, and the monies were not paid back. what is the fund's investment strategies? The fund is at approximately 24%. What strategies are going to be used to strengthen the fund? The Fire Departments fund is worse than ours, funded at 18%. What are the managers of that fund going to do to help strengthen that fund? Questions, questions, and more questions.

I golf with several retired Officers from Spokane Washington here in Arizona whe told me that their pension had a 2 billion surplus. Several years ago everyone collecting from the pension received a lump sum check of around 30 grand because of the surplus.
Looks like robbing pension funds is catching fire amongst the commie-crats.
