City of Cleveland, marking the parties’ recognition of more than a decade-long, successful effort to reform the Cleveland Division of Police (CDP). CDP now has resolved the DOJ’s 2014 findings about constitutional policing. CDP has implemented court-approved policies and training covering use of force, searches and seizures, misconduct investigations, community policing, and other areas — all resulting in contemporary assessments showing CDP now polices Cleveland constitutionally.
Of course, this was an actual "Consent Decree," not some cobbled-together make-work connected-democrat contractor money waster.
CPD still has twenty or so years to go.

This was a DOJ one.. we have a fake state one. The mandates they want Chicago to do will take 20 more years.. easily, and that’s not an exaggeration. We will be dealing with this for 15-20 more years.

Don't forget that CPD wasn't sued by the USDOJ, it was sued by a politically connected daughter of a convicted state representative and house speaker, Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan. That's almost as bad as two brothers fighting over the last leg of roast turkey.
By the way, where is Lisa nowadays?
I don’t think getting rid of the consent decree will save CPD. The problem has moved into incompetence of idiots being promoted to upper management. They created some of the worst policies going. Getting rid of the consent decree will save taxpayers money.
I don't find it so bad to go and sit for 8 hours listening to some chicken shit 5 year guy, who was scared of his own shadow on the street, read some powerpoint slides. As long as they don't require me to participate, I'm cool.

The Consent Decree ensures continued CPD failure, wasteful costs, deceit and deception, statistical manipulation, mistrust, fear and a false sense of confidence in CPD. It has been relegated into a Democrat puppet under Conehead and his Mob. If you like the way things are going with CPD, thank a Democrat.

Not even close to the truth. The Obama admin started the investigation that concluded with a "commission" chaired by Lori Lightfoot that alleged systemic racism in the operation of the CPD. Trump came into office in 2016 and the DOJ then dropped the allegations against CPD, and other departments, and released the city from the consent decree. The City of Chicago, displaying their appeasement of the "oppressed" then entered into an "agreement" with the State of Illinois to continue the decree. All smoke and mirrors.

The Consent Decree is just another toilet flush in a series of flushes as our citizens, businesses, capital (even da Bears) and others move out of the city. Found memories looking in the rear-view mirror and flipping the bird to "the city in a garden" ...... that's filled with manure'.

I think we can all agree consent decrees are a joke and actually interfere with running an effective department. But what if we ask trump to have the DOJ push for a real consent decree. That should override the joke we currently have. Then Trump can terminate it and it'll save the city 100's of millions of dollars
"Not even close to the truth", there was never a consent decree between USDOJ and CPD, so the DOJ never "released" CPD from any decree. Also, DOJ never "dropped allegations" because none were ever filed. There was a DOJ report that was released weeks before Trump was sworn in in 2017 but the DOJ never filed suit. Lisa Madigan filed suit on August 29, 2017.
To "Not even close to the truth", Lori Lightfoot had nothing to do with the USDOJ investigation into CPD. Nowhere is her name mentioned in the final DOJ report which was released one week before Trump took office. Lightfoot may have been part of a commission somewhere but not with the DOJ report which was rushed to publication before Trump took office. Here it is:

And that consent decree was pushed out in the last couple months of the Obama administration. They knew once Trump got in, his DOJ would drop it. Another "Fuck you" by Obama to the Police.
No, it was done to CPD in the last month or 2 of Obama's term. If Trump was sworn in as POTUS, it would have turned into a pumpkin and never happened.
