Ain't Dead Yet

As we all suspected, there's still backroom dealing going on:

  • The competition to land the Chicago Bears' next stadium is intensifying on both sides of the Illinois-Indiana border, with leaders saying conversations with the team remain ongoing as new potential sites surface.

Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker said Tuesday that discussions with the Bears are "still alive," noting that the team has reached out to his office for guidance while evaluating options in the state. Meanwhile, Hammond, Indiana, officials say the team continues to show strong interest in property there.

Hammond Mayor Tom McDermott said on his weekly "Left of Center" podcast that he has been in frequent contact with the team.

Still a lot of time and a lot of campaign contributions to be disguised as bribe money.

Or is it bribe money disguised as campaign contributions?

How much more money can Illinois politicians steal from the people it’s almost unreal at this point. Anyone who believes these people care about you and not getting rich need to zoom out and wake the hell up.

The Bears see the writing on the wall. Indiana is growing and Illinois is losing businesses, population and investors.

Bottom line the Bears dont want to move to a shithole, even if they're giving them everything they want.

Still time to fleece Illinois tax payers out of millions and millions. It seems the only thing that bothers voters is if you enact a sugar tax. No other tax that the elected scumbags pass on to voters seem to bother voters in this state. JB will win by a landslide.

Hammond is a disaster for the Bears. The goal is hosting a Super Bowl. The NFL isn't taking the teams to Hammond.

You wonder how hard they are working to give away billions and billions of our tax dollars how much will they get back then another note to the coppers that are complaining about their job look at this AI takes over General Motors factories. We are lucky to have a job that is not subject to total elimination, even though the Democrats are taking away a lot of money from us. At least we still have a job.

If Indiana wanted to screw the Bears they would put a deadline, very soon, to accept the offer or the deal is off.

There's a ton of acreage at the site of the old sanitarium, now owned by Tinley Park at 183rd and Harlem. Tinley intends to develop the property into a business, sporting and entertainment complex. The Bears would have access to the site off of Interstate 80 which is about 2 blocks away. Might even be some infrastructure still in place. What the hell, it might be worth a try.

F NFL (BLM, kneeling for Nat Anthem) and MLB (moving of All Star games years ago, recent treatment of SF Gians for not wearing pride hats), NBA/WNBA BLM support (https://nul.org/news/nba-paint-black-lives-matter-courts-restart) and WNBA (obvious) mistreatment of Caitlin Clark. F'em! F'em all!

If the Bears care about Chicagoans, they’d move to Indiana. We cannot afford the tax increases to keep them here. It would cause even more people to move. It’s been fun, but a sports team should be mutually beneficial, not a tax burden on those of us who live here and can’t afford to go to the games because of the tax increases.

The only viable location that benefits the team and the fans is Arlington Heights……. That being said the problem is the teachers union that wants to be able to raid the Bears $$$ via property tax increases to fund their union i.e. Demoncrat money laundering machine….. and the Bears are fed up with being ripped off by Illinois politicians……. Furthermore Chicago owes appx $600,000,000 on the Soldier Field renovations form 20 yrs ago and wants the Bears to pay it…….

Close the f'n door already. Sent those useless pricks packing. They want a taxpayer funded venue with zero money paid in tax revenue. Sounds like the perfect deal, just like selling the parking meters and skyway. Hurry and sign!

It’s all a horseshit game to make people as rich as possible with the best breaks, that’s all.

Not enough at-home football games to ever make a stadium deal work. Basic Real Estate Development Truths 101. Supplemental use as outdoor entertainment venue works only for low-expectation concerts, only time when the weather is somewhat cooperative, functionally-speaking, four months of the year, and with rock-rap acts not keen on amphitheatre sound-quality of their performance.
