Firework Suicide?
Authorities now know what happened on the Eisenhower Expressway last Thursday, leading to a bomb squad response and shutting down the interstate for hours.
It was a firework mortar that went off inside the SUV being driven by 47-year-old Jorge Vaca from west suburban Cicero. A senior law enforcement official with direct knowledge of the case told NBC Chicago the fireworks rocket was ignited inside Vaca's vehicle and shot into his chest.
It wasn't a bomb, and nobody did it to him, they said. The question is, still, why did it happen?
Heavy fireworks are supposed to be blown off in open spaces - for obvious reasons - or into the sky, well away from people.
But that is not what happened inside the SUV being driven westbound on the Eisenhower Expressway.
There were also a bunch of reports regarding shell casings scattered around the crime scene, but seeing as how it's the Ike, what neighborhoods it runs through and what happens there on a daily basis, these were probably just left over from one of the usual eight or ten weekly shootings.
UPDATE: Based on the descriptions of the wounds, it seems likely that the deceased was attempting to "fire" the mortar out of a moving vehicle, whether in celebration of some unknown event or at someone who he was trying to intimidate / wound / kill.

Maybe the deceased had a glock with a switch and an extended magazine. When the fireworks went off it may have exploded the ammunition. (unlikely) Or the deceased was a shooter and just had numerous shell casings in his vehicle from doing drive bys which were scattered by the fireworks detonation. Or maybe someone did a drive by on his ass on the highway, and inadvertently ignited the fireworks. Why is there so little information on this incident? I hate having to guess...
Was his mother-in-law in the passenger seat or in the rear seat when he lit the fuse? (I've been stuck in traffic with mine and I've thought of doing the same thing.) Otherwise, there seems to be a lot more to this story than what we are being told. I guess this is our 2026 "Sox Park shooting in the bleachers" gaslighting story.

Hmm..Just doesn't make sense yet...how did a mortar land in is chest while driving? Why in a car and not in an open space somewhere? A car just happens to stop right where there are shell casings? What are the chances of that happening...still too many questions and not enough answers..still say there is something else not being told.

So when there is a street take over with vehicles driving all crazy doing donuts inside a gasoline ring of fire and lighting firework shells and throwing them at the police its considered what ??? I dont get why people spend so much money on fireworks either. Having lived in several neighborhoods now, there is always one house that shoots off fireworks nightly for about a month around July every year. We live in weird times. There are adults that have Legos collection's worth thousands today. Yes, Lego's plastic bulding blocks...Some people collect athletic shoes from the 80's and 90's. Some of those pairs of shoes can go for over 5 thousand dollars. These are probably also people that are also "broke" have maxxed out credit cards and always complaining about how expensive things are. George Carlin called these people dumb Americans and said "you can put up a sign that says "Stupid shit sale" and people will go to that sale and buy stupid shit!" spending money they dont have on things they dont need.

I attended a bomb squad/ fireworks seminar by ccspd. Very informative.I remember a manilla envelope sent to the CEO of a Chicago Heights chemical factory. And there was the exploding pipe bomb set off by a party popper designed to go off when a guy's girlfriend opened her car door. CCSPD is very capable.
A witness was yelling for water and ice, but the illegals in traffic scurried away.
