They're Shooting Bicyclists Now?
Well, it was after midnight, so there's that:
A man died after being shot while riding a bicycle near Grant Park in the Loop early Tuesday morning, according to Chicago police.
Officers responded to a report of a person shot in the 300 block of East Jackson Boulevard around 12:15 a.m.
Police said a 27-year-old man was riding a bicycle on the sidewalk when he heard gunfire and felt pain. He had been struck in the upper leg.
He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in critical condition and later died, CPD reported.
Sounds like a femoral artery hit.
As of this writing, no one knows who the dead guy is, if he was targeted or just happened to catch a bullet in Conehead's "Crime is Down" camera infested downtown.

News showed he was on a Divi bike. I thought you need a credit card to rent one so detective should track his ID from matching his bike ID with his credit card, No?

Getting shot in the shoulder or leg and still moving around and surviving is something found only in the movies. Any gunshot can be fatal.
If you’re out anywhere in this city after midnight you have a death wish.
Not unless you yank it from its docking station and ride off or just steal it from someone that used their credit card to rent it.

I never thought I would say this but Grant park has really become a shithole. Burning crosses and a cyclist shot dead in less than a week. Just what does the impotent mayor and police superintendant plant to do about this???
Offender has been in custody and will be charged today.
Was the victim white? If he was is this the continuation of the Chicago media news blackout of black-on-white crime that began during in the 1968 King riots?
I forget but one of the great mayors gave free usage of Divvy bikes to community members.
You know, so they can look for or get to jobs.

It was bicycle road rage. A cycling "drive by" so to speak. Bang-Bang! ring-ring (bell) The other cyclist sped off in an unknown direction.

Victim had I.D. He was shot once, hit an artery. He was M1, homeless. Offender was caught on POD and is now charged.
Arrested suspect has about 4 names; more likely Venezuelan than Black American.
The problem was, he was riding the bike on a sidewalk. That's a no no.
