Best way for the department to save money is to void this fake ass consent decree that has been brought on by the Illinois attorney general, not the DOJ. All the city has to say is they can no longer afford the consent decree and demand the state pay for it just like the Feds or cancel it, problem solved with no sworn police lay offs.

Just heard they want to layoff up to 450 current PPOs which includes kids already in the academy. This will do 3 things that I’m sure the city is not thinking about:
1. Create a horrible manpower shortage. They more than likely don’t care.
2. Take 450 maying members out of the pension fund which will hit that fund even more.
3. Make overtime costs soar which will once again burn people out.
My question is, when these PPOs in cycles or in the academy get recalled back to work, will they have to restart the academy? Will the PPOs in cycles have to restart cycles? This is going to be a disaster for this department. This election can’t come soon enough.

I agree on the agenda. The socialist are already in office and holding many posistions in municipal government. We learned during Covid that pols did not care about the constitution. The DSA is breaking down law and order to where disorder looks normal. There is a larger agenda here, and the USA is the target.
