- A suspect is recovering in the hospital on Saturday after he was shot during a struggle with officers who were working to disperse a crowd on the city’s South Side overnight.

- Apparently this goofy was on off duty IDOC agent. Whatever that means. Misdemeanor charges also.
"Goofy" would be an understatement.
Just so you know, the on-duty Officer is always assumed to be in the "right" in terms of Department Policy and the eyes of the Law.
There is no "right to resist" and certainly no "right to be an off-duty goofy." That's why there are investigative processes to figure out things after the fact - in the meantime, do what you're told and complain later.

This idiot probably shot himself. If this happened in a trailer park down south i would have guessed it was assman009. Counting down the days till he has an accidental discharge getting out of his car in the handicapped spot or by the gun lockers. Bets,place your bets here.

I was at Stateville not too long ago. WOW I couldn't believe what passes for prison officers these days. Hair down to their big phat arses (they may think it's cute until they are swinging around by it. Others W/ nails soooo long they couldn't pick up a pencil. The only in shape & articulate officer was a Lt. I was there on business & couldn't get an answer from the 8 guards hanging around. I asked for the watch commander & the Lt. came up & answered the questions in 30 seconds. None of these people S/B carrying a weapon. They would probably shoot themselves. Oops that's why we're here
Dumb ass is friends with Carmen Ruffin, from the sheriffs office. Who happens to be Larry’s friend and neighbor. Which is why Ruffin wasn’t allowed to go thru the ccspd academy and was sent to CPD academy, where she’s accused of ghost payrolling and misusing her county car. Ccspd brass had the sack to tell their admin they weren’t going to put an idoc parole officer, which Ruffin and this goofy is, thru an actual police academy when they aren’t police.
Anyone in LE shouldn't have been out there in the middle of a crowd
that necessitated the arrival of uniformed local police to 'disperse
the crowd' in the first place. I would hope that this correctional
officer's supervisors thoroughly investigate this incident.

IDOC agent is there probation unit who goes and does the parole checks , they’re officers usually good guys, sounds like this guy made a big mistake that he won’t have to worry about making again.

i recall someone sharing a incident from the late great Cha Cha's at 39th and Western in 009. There was a big fight inside and the offenders got their shit taken from them and thrown into the river. No arrests. 1st watch veterens explained that they will have a lot of explaining to do when returning to work and they probally won't return to Cha Cha's again.

I remember a Det from then A5 riding a bicycle with a banana seat around Homan and Lexington wearing a T-shirt and shorts with a pistol tucked into his pants. No ID, and a fucking attitude. The fucker had to pick his gun up at ERPS. Caught some days. Never got fired and lucky for him didn't get shot. Fuck that IDOC fuck.
