You have pretty much zero authority to investigate Federal agents, no matter what Conehead and the alder-morons claim:
City officials were summoned to a testy City Council committee hearing Friday to provide answers about the delayed implementation of Mayor Brandon Johnson’s order directing Chicago police to investigate potential crimes committed by federal immigration agents.
Members of the Committee on Immigrant and Refugee Rights spent about two hours peppering mayoral aides and police leaders with questions about Johnson’s “ICE on Notice” executive order, asking what the decree has accomplished and what additional steps are needed to enforce it.
Police officials said the department had finalized internal procedures to implement the order, nearly five months after the mayor’s 30-day deadline. However, they wouldn’t say why it took so long.
“We value CPD and want to believe that officers are indeed here to preserve and protect our communities. But it is long past time for accountability to the public,” said Ald. Andre Vasquez (40th), the committee chair.
They even want third party complaints to be "investigated" when the complainant wasn't there, witnessed nothing, and has zero standing.
Don't fall for their bullshit, because they WILL NOT back you when the Federal courts decree you operated outside the scope of your local authority.

It’s evident that the police are the last resort for the radicals in the City Council. They already have the media, the useful idiots of rioters, the lawyers, and the judges on their side. As always, the radical politicians are nowhere to be found when their followers are arrested. Avoid interfering with ICE or launching criminal investigations against them. You’ll be left to fend for yourself.
Supremacy clause, case closed, now what’s for lunch? I hear there’s a pretty sweet deal on hot dogs at the local Home Depot.
So now these Marxists want to pit law enforcement against law enforcement. All over the country these New Democrat Socialists who are taking over the Democrat Party are openly proclaiming what they want to do, and what they will do to the police. Don't get involved with any of this going after federal agents. If the exempt ranks want to play this game and cooperate with the Marxists to keep their positions so be it. Remember you will be operating under duress, make sure you document what they want you to do. ICE has an internal affairs department called the Office of Professional Responsibility which operates independently of ICE operations. The Office of the Inspector General of Homeland Security can investigate ICE agents. Chicago Police should not be sucked into this. The politicians of Chicago & Illinois are cooking something up and it doesn't smell nice.
I was laying in bed getting ready to go look for a job so I got up early today. The crack of 11:45AM, when I was out begging I mean interviewing a passerby told about an unmarked possible police car & the guy inside grabbed someone I think he said. So I want the po po to investigate this & get back to me. Don't call me before 2:00PM as I am trying to get some extra sleep before I go looking for a job again. It's tough out there, I mean I get up around 5:30PM. Then hang with my bro's til 4AM & then it's up by noon to look for a job. Now I can't because this ICE investigation is really worrying me. Maybe I'll just call da police po every day & see if they have a ICE Agent in custody

Definitely agree you will end up in the federal penitentiary. You will be sitting in the cold, dank courtroom looking at your family children calling out daddy. What did you do as you are sitting there stating your assets and your liabilities knowing that they will take everything your home, your freedom your family you are done for what for listening to some idiot.

Well, if some coppers actually take this seriously, it surely would result in a physical confrontation between federal and city law enforcement. Maybe that is what the communists in city hall actually want.
Been on 10-1’s where the first to arrive and help were federal agents/officers. Feds will always have my respect and backup. Conehead and delusional white shirts can investigate themselves.
The Milwaukee common council (exactly ONE non-Communist therein) put up an ordinance making it illegal for ICE officers to wear masks while pursuing illegals. Yesterday, the city attorney (ex-public defender and current Dem politician) ruled that the ordinance is 'perfectly Constitutional'.
Uh-Huh.
Somehow I doubt that the cops are going to be available to arrest ICE peeps. But it will be interesting to see how it plays out.

Why? If a FBI agent is driving drunk, don’t you arrest him? If you on view a DEA agent beating her wife, don’t you arrest her? Of course you do. If it’s a violation of state law you are entitled to make an arrest. What will happen here is the Federal Agencies just won’t cooperate with the investigation. Don’t worry about getting arrested if your job by the book. Don’t arrest anyone unless under the authority of a warrant. This is all theater.

Talk about being middled, look at what commie Mandani wants to do when Netanyahu arrives in NYC. Enforce an arrest warrant from the "internal courts" for war crimes. By the way the United States does not recognize their jurisdiction. Is Mandani going to have the NYPD to arrest him? I'm sure that his security and the state department security would not look to kindly at any arrest attempt. If he manages to pull that off an arrest, I don't think Mossad would look the other way either. Mandani made a threat to arrest him and Netanyahu will call his bluff.

Nobody is saying you don’t write an off-duty Fed for DUI or domestic, what they’re saying is you can’t charge an on duty Fed for exercising their federal police powers because Chicago - or Illinois - doesn’t like them. Feds follow federal standards, and Illinois doesn’t get to dictate those. Ask ISP who tried to “investigate” FBI HRT after they (HRT) shot a guy downstate a few years back…
The way I see it, ICE were the ones that needed protection while they were here in Chicago. Their roving bands of instigators were all there to start trouble and keep ICE from doing their jobs.

To all current Chicago Police Officers: Remember, you cannot obey an illegal order which is exactly what they want you to do. If any Sgt or above orders you to arrest ICE while in the performance of their duties, activate your body cam, state you cannot obey an illegal order which was just given to you by Sgt. Name/Star, and call on the radio for a higher rank to respond and describe the misconduct over the air. So what if a few basement dwellers get mad at you? I disobeyed an illegal order many years ago, and am proud of myself in retirement as a result--a minor suspension didn't affect my pension at all. Remember also that your oath requires you to serve the public first and foremost not the politicians which includes the bosses they make. And thanks to all of you for stepping up to the plate when so few are willing to do it.
You give Exempts to much credit. You forgot when covid was ripping through your units and you were ordered to take the jab or be fired. Most of you caved immediately. All that talk about hiring lawyers or filing grievance never done .save the talk for your civilian friends if you are ordered . Now botching an investigation is totally doable. Just watch how IAD investigates clouted.
