We can't say we had a high opinion of him. He was a tool during the COVID strippings, he had quite the reputation at the Academy during the #metoo era that was conveniently swept under the carpet, and we scored higher than he did on every promotional test we ever took.
We'd wish him luck in retirement, but we're sure he's already got something lined up politically to go along with his "Given, not Earned" gold braid pension.

He was made for his damaging “subject matter expert” testimony in the Van Dyke trial. Other than that, he didn’t do much. He was a very average gym instructor. A subject matter expert that couldn’t pass a promotional exam. He was better than Brown… but that is not a high bar.
Lots of females are still on the job due to his "protection."

Nice enough guy, but he never managed to pass a promotional exam. A glorified gym teacher who treated “lean and rest” as something entirely different. His focus often seemed to be everywhere except building the résumé of a leader.

If you do a little look back to when he made Superintendent. He had just over three years at that rank! He made his time in rank and left right in the middle of the year?. Passing up retiring at the start of the new year and getting more furlough and comp time benefits. This shows he saw the writing on the wall and was in a race to get the hell out ASAP. Before the scandals and someone caught him or the sitting mayor dismissing him.

There are so many health benefits that go along with this, how could you possibly object? Of course, going overboard with the meds instead of doing it slowly could be a problem, but obesity is never good for you in the long run.
Two of my neighbors, both healthy individuals(in shape), started declining quickly shortly after receiving the covid vaxx. Both begged me to get it for the sake of saving “grandma” and so we can end the lock-downs. I didn’t see how that made any sense at all. One croaked already and the other is on his last breath. Whatever was in the vaxx, I wouldn’t want it.

Retiring after the first of the year is not the smartest thing to do Firemen have been retiring on Nov 15. You might loss P days and bfd days and a little OT But if you leave Nov 15 you get to pick up 2 COLA of 3% in 13 months. That extraCOLA increase stays with you every year in retirement. Really adds up

There will be a ton of issues for people on this medication. You can tell who's on it. No one in mid life is losing that much weight that fast. People just look extremely thin, not healthy. As long as I was on the job, 35 years, the gold stars were screwing their office staff. And, that also means at least one superintendent that I know of. Nothing new here. The city has always refused to deal with this. I went into private industry and I found out what happens there; dismissal and ushered out the door. I also know of more than one women who bragged at being made a merit promotee from an affair. I am sure that there are many more.

Am I the only one that doesn’t understand the love affair people on this job had for Snelling. I don’t get it, Snelling didn’t change anything that Waller and Brown left. Snelling only filled positions that went empty because of retirements and when he filled those positions they were horrible selections. The only thing he was good for was he looked the part, that was it! I still say the 2 best superintendents we had since 1990 was Cline and Weis. Cline let us be the police and Weis brought us up to date with uniforms, technology and weapons. The best thing this department can do is eliminate gold braid pensions and meritorious promotions. These 2 things are killing our department besides the politicians that are elected. We can’t afford to have another gym instructor who was never promoted by score be our superintendent ever again. You can have tests that are mostly geared toward leadership and the remainder from department directives. Leadership skills, you either have the skills or not, it’s not something you can really study for.
Goodbye and good riddance. Another dog ass drain on the city and the pension. Take the Tally Family with you on your next gig. Your a puppet mutt.

Elimination of gold braid pension must be accomplished soon. Assign captain to every watch , put on 12 hour shifts. Elimination of inspection division will boost morale. Have street deputy and district commanders tell the Captain to write up and suspend police officers.
