Heat Wave - Close the Beaches!
Chicagoans caught outside on Tuesday sought relief from the heat any way they could as the city entered its second stretch of 90-degree-plus temperatures in a month.
[...] Temperatures peaked at 96 degrees Tuesday afternoon at O’Hare Airport, shy of the record 100 degrees set in 1998, according to the National Weather Service.An air quality alert was in effect until at least Wednesday for the area. The air quality could worsen on Thursday and Friday, when wildfire smoke could reach the region, according to the Illinois Department of Health. State health experts encouraged people to stay indoors, use stronger air filters and turn off fresh air intakes on air conditioning. They also suggested limiting time outside.
So when does Conehead shut down the beaches?
You know, like McStreetlights did for Rahm at North Avenue a number of years back - it was just too darn hot to have the beaches open next to the cool refreshing water.
Or has City Hall revamped that opinion these days?

For hundreds of years, people have been going to the beach to cool off, in the 20th century they close the beach when it gets hot. It sounds like they’re covering up all the crime going on at the beach.

I came in there for 1976 2 x 19 82 many people so crowded you took about 45 minutes just to drive-through trying to get a parking space but the demographic changed and you can see what happened total destruction certain people that are less than 20% of the United States population cause 95% of the crime. Am I the only one that doesn’t understand the love affair people on this job had for Snelling. I don’t get it, Snelling didn’t change anything that Waller and Brown left. Snelling only filled positions that went empty because of retirements and when he filled those positions they were horrible selections. The only thing he was good for was he looked the part, that was it! I still say the 2 best superintendents we had since 1990 was Cline and Weis. Cline let us be the police and Weis brought us up to date with uniforms, technology and weapons. The best thing this department can do is eliminate gold braid pensions and meritorious promotions. These 2 things are killing our department besides the politicians that are elected. We can’t afford to have another gym instructor who was never promoted by score be our superintendent ever again. You can have tests that are mostly geared toward leadership and the remainder from department directives. Leadership skills, you either have the skills or not, it’s not something you can really study for.

Close the beaches on hot days because the fecal matter festers, stanks and spreads. It may chase away the misguided teens who go to the beach for "Funnin' times" and target practice. Come on, man!
