CPS Numbers and Disciplinary Files

We're told these numbers are compiled directly from City of Chicago offices, press releases and various media outlets:

  • Chicago spent $639.6 million on illegal-migrant care from August 2022 through 2024.

In the same season, Chicago Public Schools faced a $732 million budget hole and layoffs.

Only 43% of grades 3-8 were proficient in reading, 27% in math.

Forty percent were chronically absent in 2025. Enrollment fell more than 70,000 in a decade, and the district still asked for a record $10.1 billion budget.

So the city found two-thirds of a billion for people who skipped the line, and handed its own classrooms a deficit.

If Chicago can find $639.6 million for arrivals, who decided the child who already has a desk waits in back?

It's good to see these numbers in a single spot instead of spread all over media outlets that don't cover the entire story and accept what they're fed by City Hall politicos like good little lapdogs.

In the meantime, the Contrarian people noticed the release of CPS disciplinary files:

  • Why is no one talking about the more than 700 Chicago Schools employees who have been disciplined for misconduct — including sexual abuse against students — in just the last year?

The first news of this sordid state of affairs broke at the end of July when WTTW reported that more than 700 employees of the CPS had been caught engaging in some sort of misconduct, including harassment, financial crimes, and sexual abuse. And this huge number represents only a single year of disciplinary records.

The CPS has nearly 43,295 employees, so 700 is nearly two percent (1.62 percent is the number here) of the total number of employees. That seems fairly high. Granted, zero misconduct is what any business or organizations strives for, but 1.6 percent is certainly not acceptable, and is higher than the average rate in the private sector, regardless.

WTTW noted the number of disciplined CPS workers were counted between January of 2025 and January of this year. While most of the misconduct cases were low-level infractions, dozens were clear crimes including harassment, discrimination, fraud, and sexual assaults. Of the latter, 10 employees were either fired or had resigned over accusations of sexual assault involving students.

The Contrarian notes that this was reported by WTTW - an outlet that has viewership that (in many cases) is less than the blog during its heyday. No wonder the City goes there instead of places it might actually get seen.

Channel 7 was busy reporting on a Black themed business market at Soldier Field. So much more important that mass shooting in a park.

I am surprised because WTTW is a far left liberal station and outlet. I stopped watching their news programs years ago as they were very biased and anti-police. CPS hired almost 10,000 more employees using Covid money. Time to start the layoffs and close many under utilized buildings. Also time to pass a state law prohibiting strikes by all public employees.

Defund CPS. They are already considering asking for another property tax raise. Tear through their ranks and fire as many as possible. No more bitching about too many students per classroom. We know better by now. Discipline the hellout of the rest that you cant fire. Put the fear of G-d in them. Forget unpaid furlo'd workers. Save some real money by taking the schools back and making them actualy function again. Shut down every school building that has more staff than students immediately.

Interesting, but will remain UNSEEN by the voting public, so will any of it matter? The Dems, the MSM, our politicians in local government will not refer to or acknowledge any of this. It’s all about the POWER of the unions and the money they receive. From the hard working taxpayers who get NOTHING out of the deal.

Imagine that, you have a shithead in charge, who hires more shitheads. Then you get criminal behavior, who would have thunk it. Imagine how many crimes aren't reported. The schools in 011 always handled things in house because they didn't want to look bad.

If it's anything that puts the black community in a bad light Ch7 will ignore and not report it, or at best give it minimal coverage. They could never accept balanced, true coverage. But you will endure half a year of black history month feature reporting. Then they are confused why their license is under scrutiny.

What kind of lowlife targets school children and violates them in a school setting? Apparently, some members of the CTU. Disgusting. Did CPS do away with the Rubber Rooms for weirdo teachers?

One important issue with the data -- depending on attendance, a student's test scores might not be part of the aggregate. They take out both the student and the scores, meaning the proficiency numbers might not include those students who rarely show up. In a strange way, the kids show as enrolled for the sake of funding, but not as students for the sake of testing.

So, all these numbers come from one source, City Hall. All are bullshit, I will guarantee that. These kids that "graduate" from grammar school take basic math in h.s. That would be 4-6 grade level. Those DEI promotions and enter colleges continue with the basic math. No such thing as algebra or geography or civics. They admit 40% absenteeism, then it is impossible to achieve those bullshit stats. Why do you think there is no Wonderlic testing for jobs and many colleges have eliminated the SAT test results. The permanently aggrieved can't pass those either. I do remember 60 years ago working in private industry, Wonderlic test scores in single digits. Doubt those scores would change much over the years.

During searches (warrants) finding gang member letters written like a 2nd or 3rd graders. Look at many of your merit promotion "leaders". Of course, this has spread to all of those who attend public schools regardless of "their community".
