Don't Share the Minutes
Seems like concealing information from the membership has been a standard practice for years:
That's taken directly from the Board Meeting minutes from April of 2023.
We thought that the Board was paid by dues money. Which would mean all actions and official meetings, including the records of said meetings, belong to the membership and can be shared among the membership.
We can understand excluding the media because they aren't members, but hiding things as a matter of policy - especially after running your campaign on exposing past practices of the previous administration....
It all seems a bit hypocritical.

Well….. thats not a good email… at all. I’ve been pretty neutral but that pisses me off something terrible. Time to go for all of them.
Where in the world will the FOP food truck be while the dues paying members will be working a 12 hr day. Remember the FOP works for you!!

A few of us have noticed how some of the chubbier board members in The Catanzara Cabal have been gradually dropping weight the last year or so.
After talking to a fly on the wall at 1412, we learned it’s a combination of two things: the first being the stress of the federal investigation and looming indictments
And second, John bought them all prescriptions for Ozempic** in an attempt to help them shed pounds so they’re more fit when they get to the joint
** the only caveat to free Ozempic? They had to crush and snort lines of it off of John’s ass.
Once upon a time our union rep would take notes and type up the synopsis of everything that happened.

Has anyone seen their policy for reviewing the board minutes, it's absolutely burdensome! They make it such a hassle to see them that nobody bothers.

SCC, what you shared states that anyone can view the minutes as long as it’s in person at the lodge. How is that concealing information? When had board meeting minutes ever been published online, am I missing something?

Obviously, that was written before AI was around to assist. Perhaps, a four year old was tasked to write that particular entry. One can determine, without much investigative skills, that the FOP does not have many English/grammar experts sitting on the Board who would be willing to proofread anything. The Lodge magazine has been poorly written, without any proofreading, as long as I can remember. I guess I can give them all credit for being consistent and a "professional" organization.
A perfect example of how all of John’s sycophants blindly march in lockstep with their masters demands, the membership be damned. As said before, nothing but spineless yes men, compromised and bought with the perks of unfettered access to our dues money.

Its obvious that a po isn't capable of running the fop. Hire an attorney or labor specialist to be the president and limit his powers without board or membership approval. With the amount of salary involved you could get someone that's knowledgeable smart and not looking to steal. Instead of some medical abusing bust out cop.

I never trusted my 12th district self proclaimed rep and went to meetings myself.
While we are all here working 12 hour tours and days off cancelled, our food truck bought and paid for with our dues is out in New York. I guess they’re out there feeding non due paying members? This FOP is the absolute worst. Why do we not have a say in this? That f’n food truck should be going district to district feeding us!! We’re f’n paying for this. I can not wait to vote these f’n jokers out of office.
Imagine being worried about members finding out what happens at Board meetings…

I was a Unit rep from the late 90's thru 2009 at A/%. Every monthly meeting J. cat would stand up & demand to seem the BOOKS. The Treasurer John Capparelli, sorry for the misspelling John, would tell JC to call when he wanted to look! Also at all, of the meetings, when you signed in there would be copies of the previous meeting Minutes on the table so you could take one to review! The Minutes were also on the FOP Site! Where have we gone wrong JOHN!

copies of the meeting minutes are available at the meetings as well as emailed out to unit reps to disseminate to the units. I post and email my members the minutes when I get them.
I do this. But I email them to the members.

The policies to view the minutes are cumbersome to say the least. It is a small windows of an hour, you can't have your phone or note taking materials and you have to be babysat by a board member like you're some kind of shit head. And under no circumstances can you view any of the financials.
We vote in the stupidest people we can find. And the current minutes are not much better.
