Another Stolen Government Gun
How did we miss this one? It wasn't in our emails or news feed:
Chicago police are investigating after a gun, ammunition, and a bulletproof vest were stolen from a U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration agent's vehicle on the Near West Side.
Police said items were stolen on Sunday from a government vehicle located inside a residential garage near Madison and Leavitt
Sources said a semi-automatic rifle, 1,000 rounds of ammunition, two magazines, and a DEA-labeled bulletproof vest were taken.
The DEA has also launched an internal investigation and is working with Chicago police to recover the stolen items.
But don't forget to register your rifles and your magazines with the ISP. And serialize all of your ammunition, too.
By the way, has that registration scheme that Fata$$ signed off on ever gotten more than 5% compliance? Has ISP begun searching, arresting and prosecuting all those felons?

Semi auto my ass. The G uses full auto
1,000 rounds! That shooting rounds
This is Chicago! If your stuff isn’t locked down, someone is going to screw it or take it.
This isn't new. FBI and DEA agents have had equipment stolen out of their vehicles for years now. You would think that would be part of their training when they get assigned here. But Nope. Most move here from somewhere else and have no idea.
It may of happened on a Sunday but not this past Sunday. Saw the admin message put out on the wire probably two weeks ago. I believe he was gone for military duty over that weekend came back on Sunday and found the items missing. Who leaves the kind of hardware in their vehicle when you know it’ll be unattended for a couple days?!?!
This fckstick needs to be suspended.
I now look forward to these! Thanks SCC!
I can remember like it was yesterday being in the academy 30 years ago and one of the instructors made a point of telling us recruits that you NEVER leave a gun in an unattended vehicle .
NEVER.
Feds should leave their guns and cars at the office.
Nothing will happen. He is a G
Sergeant at Homan and a PO on their team had their guns stolen from their vehicles within a day of each other!
Must be new here... Welcome to Chiraq, pal. Tie it down and guard it 24x7 or it's getting grabbed by the shitheads protected by the Democrats.
Bingo
Did you, or did you not, catch this part:
"from a government vehicle located ___ inside a residential garage ___ near Madison and Leavitt "
Exactly……
An idiot.
It's been a long time since I was at DEA but the policy then was to never leave a firearm in an unattended car. I have also never known of an agent putting their G ride in there garage in place of a personal car. It would not surprise me if the agent had been to see a piece of squeeze and had his car broken into while there. Being a good agent, he realized he was going to be screwed so he moved the car to his garage and then filed a report. If the car was locked and in the garage want to bet they didn't find any broken glass in the garage? Something like that happened in Miami years ago and OPR wanted to put it to bed as it occurred to a supervisor. Someone in the hood is going to love that Rock River Arm's carbine with EOTech sights!
He or she should be held accountable for any deaths that occur as a result. It's tough to be the example, but I guarantee you it won't happen again.
Every agent in DEA has the opportunity to get a gun safe paid for by the agency. All of them. Make the appointment and drop off the vehicle. They are just being lazy. That will get you fired if they really push the issue.
I remember at the time reading that only 4 sheriffs of Illinois 102 counties would cooperate or enforce it. Should have been a huge story but the media in this state is all in on fatass.
So now he will be issued a replacement rifle, ammunition - a thousand round is a goodly amount of ammunition to fit into 2 magazines, and vest, change his truck lock and return to his assigned parking space at home. So I guess he keeps his flash-bangs, helmet, and assorted small weaponry in his kitchen.
I have never left a gun in a car.
at least it was a mostly peaceful car burglary
Lotta rats
"Sources said a semi-automatic rifle,"
There is a highly disappointed thief out there right now. What sort of DEA agent is rolling with a *semi-auto*. That's a restriction for us proles;)
There’s a handful of CPD that have had their guns lost, stolen or missing as well.
Watch out before we start casting stones.
You ever go the Comiskey, gun’s not allowed. Gotta keep it in the car unless your a teacher.
Wonder if someone was watching the agent for awhile? That's a darned nice weapons and rounds haul. Even within a car safe, not sure it's wise to leave a gun in a car. But sometimes a surprise "inspection" at a building will pop up and there is no choice.
A handful? Of course we'll never know the real number because many of the reports got buried, but a handful is most definitely an underestimation.
Yeah right! Do not believe fat ass. We DO NOT even have enough troops to staff the highways. Just look around. When is the last time you have scene a road troop but we are going to enforce a gun registry. I got a cheeseburger for you Porkulus. 😂
That is true you can go as fast as you want switch lanes and use the shoulders. You whatever you want there is no more enforcement because they have zero leadership just like we have just collecting a check. Smile wave go home safe. It’s the best way to do it. Did you hear that CPD only had 12 applicants and you get to do the test online at home so cheating is easily allowed. It’s the Chicago way even though nobody wants the job.
Every Monday I read the AMC messages and the amount of guns stolen from cars blows me away. The last weekend was especially high.
You could solve the budget crisis just ticketing 18 wheelers in the express lanes of the Dan Ryan
When was the last time the police shot someone with an AR?
Not all of them do.
