Bad News for Protestors
- A study by a Harvard professor released this month found no evidence of racial bias in police shootings even though officers were more likely to interact physically with non-whites than whites.
The paper for the National Bureau of Economic Research, which examined thousands of incidents at 10 large police departments in California, Florida and Texas, concluded that police were no more likely to shoot non-whites than whites after factoring in extenuating circumstances.
“On the most extreme use of force — officer-involved shootings — we find no racial differences in either the raw data or when contextual factors are taken into account,” said Harvard economics professor Roland G. Fryer Jr. in the abstract of the July 2016 paper.
Mr. Fryer, who is black, told The New York Times that the finding of no racial discrimination in police shootings was “the most surprising result of my career.”
Well that's certainly inconvenient - a black Harvard professor (someone probably smarter than 90+% of the population) does an extensive analysis of the data, and comes up with something even he didn't expect - "the most surprising result of my career." Especially seeing the body count and property damage totals of the past few years.

The protesters/BLM don't care about the truth. The lie they spread and that everyone drinks allows everyone to be a victim and strike out at the establishment with a purposeful target - the police. BLM/leftists have been waiting for a cop to shoot a black man and they got double their wish this month, as they had nothing to protest of late with any intensity. Look for these protests to now carry into the Nov elections in order to rally the low information voters to the polls. All that is needed is another mass shooting in the next couple months and the demorats/leftists will be rocking with joy that they can run on common sense gun control - never let a good crisis go to waste.
I could have told you that and I'm not a Harvard professor. The deciding factor when it comes to police shooting blacks is that blacks tend to resist/attack officers more often then white people. Anyone that doesn't see this is just plain ignoring the facts or are retarded.

This reminds me of a study a few years ago when two of these college professors set out to prove liberals are more generous to charity, the only problem was, their data suggested the opposite. So, as good liberals who didn't believe their results, they went back and re-analyzed the data and guess what they found? Conservatives are more generous with their cash and their time than liberals for charity.

It is 'the most surprising result in his career' because he has been told the white man hates him since he was a child, first by his kin and then by the Democrats pandering for votes. I don't believe a lot of the non-sense being pushed. However, we should not be so quick to point out this study as it only contains data from about 5 percent of all Departments nationwide. But, its a start. For the record, I am a Black Officer. Yes Ive seen some White Officers be a bit unprofessional with Blacks and Yes I question where there head is. But my experience tells me this is not the norm but an exception. I think its sort of screwed up that White Officers are all being painted as Racist. So a White Officer is Profiling any Black they stop. I havent seen that and the law of averages would dictate that is close to impossible. Please someone correct me if I am wrong.BTW, Ive been called Uncle Tom, sell-out, etc by the very people I protect everyday so I guess Im part of the problem as well

Hmmmmmm . . . I'm sure the brassholes would come down HARD on anyone uploading video that was filmed by a CPD issued camera. But video captured by a personally owned camera (*cough, cough GoPro cough*) should be a different matter, especially if the camera is not attached to a City owned vehicle. Something that is portable and that required no alterations or modifications to a City owned vehicle should be kosher.
If it isn't the City's camera, they have no claim over the publishing of the content captured by the camera. The City might try the route of claiming "confidentiality", but since almost every swinging dick at the scene has a cell phone in their hand, that wouldn't be much of a leg for the City to stand on. There is no longer a "reasonable expectation of privacy" in any public area.
A lot of FDs around the country have been shooting footage at working structure fires, even some interior operations scenarios involving rescuing homeowners.
The legal aspects are still being threshed out, mainly because the footage is being shot inside the walls of a privately owned building. The reasonable expectation of privacy in a privately owned building (especially a residence) is still a consideration, especially since the majority of residential fires requiring rescue take place during the night time hours. Day or night, there have been no successful challenges to publishing videos of exterior views at working structure fires. In any event, the FD is not being hammered with calls to document every moment of their workday. The public wants play by play coverage of the PD? Okay. Just be careful what you wish for.
