Kicking the can down the road:
The City Council authorized a massive $1.25 billion borrowing plan for economic development and housing projects on Friday, handing Mayor Brandon Johnson a key victory in his plan to wean the city off a longstanding reliance on tax increment financing districts.
It passed 32-17 despite objections from opponents seeking tighter Council oversight of future projects.
With interest, the plan could cost the city $2.4 billion over 37 years, meaning just about everyone who voted for and against this monstrosity will be long dead, buried, or likely residing their last years in Federal prison. They are dooming anyone who remains in this dying blue $hithole to a dystopian future.
And along with this borrowing, are they planning on spending anything responsibly?
City Council members on Friday approved $70 million in surplus spending that, with assistance from the county and state, is expected to cover expenses through the end of the year to care for the influx of asylum-seekers sent to Chicago from the Southern U.S. border.
By a vote of 30-18, Council members backed the latest round of funding for a crisis that has highlighted racial divisions in the city, raising questions about committing money to new Latino arrivals without addressing decades of disinvestment in Black neighborhoods on the South and West sides.
Ald. Anthony Beale (9th) said the measure amounts to “burning money” for “residents who are not paying taxes in the city of Chicago.”

I always thought TIF was for supporting businesses so they can grow, pay taxes, hire people, etc. Now we’re gonna take that money and give it to people who have no intentions of working. Sure a few might but not the one I’ve seen. The sheer stupidity is amazing, but hey, they can always use the race card for destroying the city.
For most politicians, taxations are the source of griftings.
As the payers of taxes, we, presuming that our taxes paid will be utilized for our benefits, practicals such as fresh water, efficiently effective sewer disposal/treatment, trash pick-up, roads and byways maintained and improved, parks and forest preserves ditto, mass transits, law enforcements, ajudications, fire extinguishments, emt, er, etc., all practical neccesities, have been shown constantly that, to politicals of all varieties, these purposes are only minimumly relevant to their purpose: grift.
Grift until their hog sacks are swollen and then, grift even more.
Where will all these massive griftings come from?
Why, the eternally prolific milkings of the taxpayer cows.
With the minimal past adequate balance between the two completely contradictory purposes having shifted insanely to the grift, with even invaders from other nations complaining that their entitled to portions of said griftings are insufficient to their 'needs', in ironic competition with our own native griftings leeches, the practicals we payers of taxations expect are predictably waning past minimums into the zones of pathetically inadequate.
The gall it takes to screech the 'fuck you, pay me' mantra from the parasite grifters would be overkill in it's acidic effectives upon cold steel.
Trump/MAGA has effectively exposed the grifters' ergregious infestations throughout all governments, city, county, state and federal.
Some wise fellows have said that our Constitutional Republic can only survive as such with the majority of it's citizens being moral, honest, honorable and vigorously resolved to maintain our Constitutional virtues.
This democracy the parasite grifters screech about is not our form of government, rather, merely the method to provide the citizens with the authority and means to choose those moral, honest, honorable and resolved to govern by and to the standards enumerated in our nation's Constitution.
The clarity of this century will be in knowing, beyond all doubt, that the majority of polticians are woefully bereft of those qualities required.
And that until the true majority of citizens are also not woefully bereft of the same qualities, this shit will continue.
All propaganda falls on deaf to bullshit ears, when the hearer of said propaganda are not bereft of the neccessary qualities most practical to our nation's survival.
Innate honor, honesty, morality and resolve cannot stomach this bullshit propaganda.

Migrant Crisis" should be rebranded to something like NA-VIP: Non-American Voter Investment Program". Highlight nationwide cooperation at federal, state, county and city government so the public can see the whole picture and investment.
1. Federal government invites the best and brightest.
2. Border states welcome, process then transport them to assimilation regions.
3. Northern states house, educate and introduce local values.
4. All debt and legal problems will be forgiven and they're granted the right to vote.
The country receives a return on investment through increased tax base, improved quality of life and higher property values. Current citizens are exposed to strong traditions and improved culture (think Irish, Chinese and Indian immigrants).
People who don't pay taxes invest, too, by giving up city services like access to parks.
It's a great program. Too bad it's poorly marketed so the public doesn't see the full potential. Politicians should be recognized for the coordinated effort to responsibly spend our money and make America better.

If the city's current trajectory continues Chicago will be toast before 2030 and by then the interest required to service the federal debt will make it impossible for the feds to step in with financial aid.

Get a list of every asshole that voted to spend OUR tax money on non-citizens and VOTE THEM OUT.

Help me out here: What on earth is “disinvestment” in the Black community? Does that mean politicians are going to throw money at a special interest group other than blacks? (It’s about time!) Does it mean the black community will now be expected to pay taxes so that money can be used to support the illegal alien interest group? (It’s about time!). As the Spring arrives, the squirrels resume gathering their nuts, to restore their nut hordings to pre winter abundance.
Having survived yet another winter, a bit leaner then before, the squirrels now focus their squirrel minds upon this task, both to be prepared, accordingly, for the known re occurence of cyclical winter and, if the squirrel get lucky, the traditional making of more squirrels, said squirrel progeny being also well known to be very, very, very hungry.

This is typical for O’Shea. He did not vote in December when a vote was taken regarding allowing the residents of Chicago the ability to vote on whether or not we wanted to remain a sanctuary city.
He does not care about the Fire & Police pensions being funded. He is a two-faced pos who is only interested in lining his pockets.

We can’t let Mary Gill get elected in November. She was anointed to the position after Fran Hurley ran for the office in 2022, in spite of knowing she had already secured a bigger and better ($$) job. O’Shea and the 19th Ward powerbrokers made sure Hurley ran for re-election to ensure they did not lose this seat. They played the voters as fools!
We must correct this affront by voting for the Republican challenger Herb Hebein in November.

When Detroit went under the pension holders took a trimming. I would suspect anyone buying the bonds would want to be first in line for the tax revenue or some other assets that the city will put up for collateral in case the city went under.
