Officer Says Thanks

After the naked "insane" crack addict was found not guilty of attempted murder of a Chicago Police Officer, the involved Officer felt what was surely a giant kick to the gut. He writes to us:

  • I wanted to take this time and thank my brothers and sisters in blue for their support the last two years while I was going to court on Whitley temple . The afternoon the verdict was announced was one of the worst days in my life . Every not guilty being read felt like a punch in the stomach and driving home I felt numb . But as the days go by , the pain lessens and you gain clarity . I put up a good fight the past two years and that is because you men and women gave me the strength to fight . My efforts fell short and I was defeated but I learned you learn more from your defeats then you do from your victories. I also know I walked away with the most important victory and that’s my life . You men and women had my back during the roughest time in my life and I will never take that fact for granted . Thank you all again ………E.P.

On a related note, a civil lawsuit has been filed against the naked "insane" crack addict for the injuries suffered by the Officer. Hopefully a civil jury will be smarter than a Cook County judge.

I've been gone a while now, years ago I realized the only ones we can count on is each other.

Think about how many times you waited for radio, and desk guy hit you for five, for a fundraiser.

How many times did you dig down.

If you did not have it, you tapped your partner's shoulder.

Mumbled a bit, lent it to you, got to dinner, you bought.

Cops do that.

Gotta tell you, I know a lot of people, best ones are the cops.

Bless each and every one of you boys and girls.

P.s. Thanks to SCC for letting us talk to each other.

Civil trials are the way to go now. The criminal courts are rigged for the criminals. Hope the ex-cop who pinned that bike thief gets his justice that way too. Your union really should start funding these cases -- best defense is a strong offense.

The crack addicts case was sent to DHS for civil commitment, so at least there’s hope some justice is done. Most if not all the state hospitals are worse than prison.

Can anyone be a judge here in cook county? Are there any requirements to be a judge? It seems like a very easy low to no work and very high paying job.

Hopefully this officer not only wins the civil suit, but also sticks it in Chicago’s ass in some way, great or small, every single day until he can leave Illinois. Treat the city like a voodoo doll and jam a pin into it every fucking day.

Not a cop here, just a regular Joe Schmoe who reads the blog every day. Thanks to the officer for sharing this and thanks to SCC for relaying it. There are lots of us out here who support you guys. We are all pissed off at this outcome. The only real solution to all of this BS is, sad to say, leaving Chicago. I don’t blame any of you guys for retiring early and getting the heck outta Dodge. I’m trying to do the same. SCC for over a decade has warned Chicago would become the lawless hellhole that it is. I wish it were easier to pack up and go. But Until then, thank you all for your service.

"The Chicago way" fix was in from the get go, so hopefully a civil judgement against her will leave her working for the man in every sense of the term...

I’m sure the officer is suffering from PTSD after having sustained serious injury both physical and mental. I’m sure the officer is struggling with sleepless nights and has anxiety attacks thinking about going to work and possibly dealing with another crackhead who may try to harm him. It sounds like the Officer might want to apply for disability due to PTSD and get 75% of his salary tax free. Just a thought …

You are a good person who tried to do the right thing. In Chicago “No Good Deed Goes Unpunished”. The good guy’s have become the bad people in the eyes of the politicians running the place. It’s become the “Cook County Way”. Finish your time off and leave this shit-hole. They don’t deserve you. A good person who cares. Enjoy your time in this wonderful world where you can enjoy a better quality of life and be appreciated for being a good person. Don’t ever stop being the person you are, don’t never let the politicians change your good hart and don’t never stop caring. The good people will always appreciate you. The Democrat Party have destroyed this place and parts of the city and county show it! Enclosing God Bless You for doing the best you can do in a place that doesn’t deserve you.

You experienced the deep state where the fix was in. Taxwinckle wasn’t going to let her friend be held accountable. I’m happy you weren’t killed. I followed the story in the news. What little there was and knew something was a foul. It’s only going to get worse with the powerful democRATS in control.

In terms of sticking your neck out for this City. Always remember instances like these. This City WILL NOT stick its neck out in return for us. All we have is each other in this lawless butthole of a political landscape in this City.

Your heart is in the right place Ed. You worked for a city, and in a district whose residents for the most part, didn’t appreciate dedicated coppers. Hold your head up.

You get appointed and elected, but not elected unless you're appointed.

If the civil judge can breathe that judge will be doing better than almost ANY criminal judge. Guy gets popped, arson, arson for profit, spousal abuse, attempted murder, fleeing the police, 3rd DUI (during this arrest), driving on a revoked license, no insurance & I believe another charge of just not being nice! Judge says can you make bail? No judge I can’t. What can you make?? Judge I have $14.00. OK just release him R.O.R. ?????? What a guy who makes bad decisions when drinking & all the other bad stuff & he walks out. The judge should have to (THEMSELVES) call the victim & explain why the criminals life is more important than yours? If the criminal re-offends the judge S/B fined!! When it’s their money & their livelihood maybe they will think clearer…………

“They” are probably expecting something like that with their trampling of the Constitution. Makes one wonder if all of these “illegals” are actually UN troops who will be used to counter. Remember, Obama looked at our Constitution and the Bill of rights as a bad thing because it shackles government.

The lawsuit will likely go as well as the criminal trial did.

The main obstacle is the negligence of an on-duty PO.
Leaving the keys in a running squad and exiting the car kinda falls under the “victim screwed up and caused this mess” kinda thing.
Every jury will see this as “avoidable” had the officer deployed common sense from the beginning.

No running unattended car? No incident.
For better or worse it’s the climate we live in these days.

Best of luck in to the copper going forward.
Lesson to be learned here regardless.
