Beware the Sidewalks
San Francisco has "poop apps" for user to keep track of piles of shit on the streets of their lovely city.
Some enterprising Chicagoan ought to make an app for this:
- A large dog was killed in River North on Saturday afternoon when it apparently made contact with an electrified manhole cover, according to witnesses and other officials. People who work and live in the area believe other dogs have been shocked at the same location recently.
Yeah, don't walk your dog over here or you might end up dragging it home.
So aside from beggars, robbers, and all manner of illegal alien confronting you on the streets, now you have to worry about your pet headed to doggie heaven just for walking on the sidewalk.

Was the dog two-legged or four-legged? BWAHAHAHAHA.
Sad. But if I recall correctly, this seems to happen every few years or so...
I recall this happening a few years ago, same M.O. but I don’t remember where. This could happen to a small child especially if they had wet shoes or decided to touch any metal poles or manhole covers. After reading about it a few years ago I would always avoid my dogs stepping on manhole covers and near any pole that I knew were carrying electricity. Those underground vaults can have some high current traveling through them. Don’t step on them. I remember responding to a call of wires down in an alley. The Com. Ed. guy was already there and the downed wire was half way down the alley. He said never walk down to a downed wire as the current could be traveling through the concrete depending how much moisture was in it. He said the primary wires in alleys could be about 4000 volts. He then pulled out a really long pole with meters as if he was searching for a landmine!
Very sad that a member of the public was walking their dog and it ended in tragedy. It could have been a child. If this was a homeowner there would be hell to pay. The city seems to get away with not maintaining its infrastructure.
Ungrounded conductors can have bad consequences
Read this on CWB yesterday. Wife tells me comed said everything was safe and gave no reason. I cannot imagine seeing that happen to my dog. I'd be balling like a baby in the street.
If it can kill a dog what can it do to a person?
I always avoid them and if it’s raining stay a few extra feet away. Those substations usually have 12,000v feeders that get stepped down for local distribution and when some insulation runs thin the current bleeds out and seeks the path of least resistance. And lot of those feeds are not fused. So
Avoid covers that say electric on them
And the higher the power lines are in the alleys the higher the voltage. Like up to 100,000v so any downed wires do not pickup.
Diversity will fix this.
FYI……voting has ended for the state flag. I hope the demoncrats don’t stuff the ballot box to get what They want!!!
lmfao
why post a stupid comment like this?
as the dog passes, we have the passage of time and then we are unburdened by what has been done
It's electrifying.
Best thing to do if your dog gets killed on one of those covers is to leave the dog there on top of the cover. Let all to see first hand and watch the uproar. Otherwise a dead dog falls on deaf ears other than a few. Move along nothing to see here.
Dogs are so much better than people!
Poor dogs aren't even safe in conehead's playground.
Well here in shitcago we don't need the app to track poop in this shithole, we deal with POS every single day. This city is loaded with POS starting with the mayor
Or it might fix diversity, depending on the neighborhood.
I know you think I’m kidding but if you find yourself on electrified ground, keep your feet exactly together.and bunny hop to safety. And don’t touch anything.
Not to mention the occasional fire truck that may crash into you due to old age and lack of maintenance.
As the owner of a corner property, my home appears to be the open toilet of my neighborhood. People come from blocks, even miles away to have their dogs urinate and defecate on my lawn and shrubbery.
If you want something fixed?
Go see Madigan and bring lots of cash...
On second thought maybe he still has a bagman on the job?
Chicago, finding new ways to stink.
If you must walk near a downed wire, small steps/shuffle or bunny-hop. If you don't believe me ask your Com Ed source.
How do the progressives manage to completely fuck EVERYTHING up? Seriously, they’re complete fuck ups and they’re voted into office by other fuck ups.
is there anyway we can get chief hein to walk on the man hole cover
The city enjoys tort immunity. Why do you think your buildings and work conditions are so bad?
a survey will reveal most ballots came from statewide cemeteries
Im going to walk on that manhole cover and retire with free medical care after I turn 50...fuck waiting until 55
Chicago is in serious need of a Spot Spotter program.
Wouldn't it at least partially be the truck's fault?
Don't pee in public. That is what dog reportedly was doing.
Keep FTO VC away from this area. He'll go over there and fake getting electrocuted to be off for another year on IOD
Generally, each of the insulators on the lines can handle 10,000 volts. So when you see several of them stacked between a pole and a line, count them, that's how much power is in that line...
The criminal FTO from 10 a few years back who was taking cash in DUI stops was also a thief with IOD’s. Seems like anytime he stepped out of the car, unless he was stealing, he got injured. Hey, Harold, you barn boss in the joint? What a joke he was.
Where exactly is this dangerous manhole? I have at least three neighbors with dogs that could benefit from urinating on these.
Maybe Brandon and Gov. FatAss should go walking in that area?
