Cleaning House?

Conehead is getting rid of people he doesn't like:

  • Three days after warning of a City Hall housecleaning fueled by disloyalty, Mayor Brandon Johnson broke out the broom.

It happened quicker than anyone expected. In rapid-fire succession, the mayor’s office announced that Aviation Commissioner Jamie Rhee and Civilian Office of Police Accountability chief Andrea Kersten, both holdovers from previous administrations, were “retiring.” Also leaving is another holdover, OEMC director Jose Tirado, who has a job lined up.

The Chicago Sun-Times reported earlier this week that Rhee was among those whose days could be numbered as Johnson seeks to act on his claim that he should have “cleaned house faster” when he took office and now plans to correct that mistake by sending people packing.

“If you ain’t with us, you just gotta go,” the mayor said.

While every cop should applaud the firing of the CuckfOPA witch and the OEMC departure appears completely voluntary, the Aviation Commissioner is garnering assorted aldermanic praise, which may hint at Conehead making yet another misstep. The appointments he makes moving forward will tell everyone more.

One could be forgiven for noting the ::ahem:: "melanin deficiency" of all the persons leaving or being forced out though

Andrea Kersten should go down to New Orleans with Granny Clampett.

They could open up a nice lesbian owned business together like a homeless shelter for cats.

they did this at ctu ... its fake theatrics ... they used these people to learn the systems and power areas within certain departments ... now will come some serious "restructuring" to get complete compliance from all workers across departments and vendors in the next year and a half ... before the election year there will be real firings of top performers to scare people into voting the right way ... might be a few wild situations thrown in there for distractions like a strike or a political confrontation

I worked for a Fortune 500 Health Care company for 20 years (2002-2022). When I started, the IT division was 100% American; mostly Caucasian, with about 30% of the staff being very talented, capable minorities.

As a result of a merger in 2006, control of IT was given to an Indian immigrant. Very capable guy, with whom I enjoyed working. But by 2016, 90% of the IT staff was from India; about half working offshore, and the other half principally on bogus H1-B visas procured by high-volume body shops.

When merit is not a consideration (but loyalty is), people hire tribally. It has always been this way. For God's sakes, look at Detroit from the Coleman Young years forward.

Conehead's personnel policies shouldn't be a surprise to you at all. It happens everywhere in urban city government and (as described above) in many large corporations as well.

He is an idiot, This is what the airlines have been waiting for. The city has destroyed the airport over the last year. The terminal expansion project is so over budget the contractor has gone back twice to redesign the project. The mayor is looking to send his people out there too raid the bank, get as much money out of the airport through his friends and force United to move and have American shift major operations elsewhere . It is only a matter of time and O'Hare is done it is the next Gary. The city's only hope is Johnson gets indicted or put in jail by Trump. This ass clown is the biggest racist the city has ever seen. I can't wait for the CTU to get shut down too. They are on the news saying how Trump is attacking the children. They should all be in jail.

Federal Shadow Over Chicago: Unpacking the Jurisdiction in Lightfoot and Johnson's Alleged Missteps.

In Chicago's political landscape, where corruption has historically been as much a part of the scenery as the skyline, the latest chapter involves former Mayor Lori Lightfoot and current Mayor Brandon Johnson. They're embroiled in allegations that could invite federal intervention into local affairs, a twist that's as intriguing as it is potentially damning.

The crux of the matter is their suspected interference with Chicago's Inspector General, Deborah Witzburg, whose office has been digging into a slew of issues from ethics breaches to how the Chicago Police Department operates. But when the city's Law Department steps in, allegedly obstructing these probes, you've got the makings of a legal showdown.

One key area where federal law might step in is police accountability. The U.S. Department of Justice has the power to investigate local cops for rights violations, thanks to laws like 34 U.S.C. § 12601. Given Chicago's past, including the botched raid on Anjanette Young, the feds might just come knocking again if new dirt surfaces.

Then there's the corruption angle. If Lightfoot or Johnson's actions whiff of wire fraud or campaign finance shenanigans, especially if they've used the U.S. mail or crossed state lines, expect the FBI or U.S. Attorney's Office to take an interest. Chicago's history with political graft means this isn't a stretch by any imagination.

The obstruction of justice charge is another angle where federal law could take the stage. If there's any hint that local officials tampered with witnesses or blocked federal probes, this falls under 18 U.S.C. § 1505, making it a federal case.

Civil rights violations could also pull federal agencies into the fray. If there's a pattern of rights abuses or discrimination that the feds can't overlook, you might see the Civil Rights Division of the DOJ stepping up to bat.

Now, with a new administration, how this plays out could swing in different directions. But the potential for federal crimes in these allegations means this isn't just a local squabble; it's a national one, where the law's long arm might reach from Washington to Windy City.

Watching this saga unfold, it's a stark reminder that in America, no one's above the law, no matter how high their office. Whether this ends in federal court or stays local remains to be seen, but one thing's clear: Chicago's political playbook is under the microscope like never before.
The feds are investigating.

They are determined to right all the perceived wrongs of the department's past. When they get an investigation, you will be guilty of something, guaranteed, even if it's something not within the pervue or the scope of their investigation, that's just the way it is now. You will then receive an over-inflated disciplinary recommendation, or they will recommend termination (they do that a lot). Nothing is going to change.

Maybe for you. Gotta love being in a cush unit with zero stress for the last 10 years. Ton of OT while floating til 55/healthcare later this year. Work out on the clock, too. This job (nope, it ain’t a career - hasn’t been for decades) is what ya make of it. The old timers who trained me many moons ago had it right when they said “treat this job like a whore, kid”. Wish I woulda listened to their wisdom earlier.
