We assume this is merely posturing:
The Bears’ sole focus for a new stadium is no longer Arlington Heights — and no longer Illinois.
In the team’s latest change of heart in a yearslong quest for a new home, Bears president and CEO Kevin Warren sent a letter to fans Wednesday evening saying the team will explore other locations for their planned new domed stadium — including northwest Indiana.
Warren wrote that Arlington Heights remains “the best and only path forward in Cook County, given there are no other viable alternatives,” and vowed to explore taking the team elsewhere.
“We need to expand our search and critically evaluate opportunities throughout the wider Chicagoland region, including Northwest Indiana,” Warren wrote. “This is not about leverage. We spent years trying to build a new home in Cook County. We invested significant time and resources evaluating multiple sites and rationally decided on Arlington Heights.”
This is a massive opportunity for political graft and corruption that comes along once in a lifetime and it would be completely believable for Illinois pols to blow the entire operation.

Hammond Indiana is a whole lot closer to Chicago than Arlington Heights. It’s only 7 miles from the McDonald’s at the Skyway and State line Rd. And 22 miles to Soldiers Field.
Arlington Park is 16 miles from the Cumberland CTA station and 31 miles from Soldiers Field.
Complaining about being in Indiana is like saying if you live in Kenosha (49 miles from Chicago & 149 miles from Lambeau) you must root for the packers instead of the Bears.
Good riddance! The only people benefitting from the Bears being in Chicago are the Bears, the politicians and the Levy Bros! That whole "economic engine" bull crap is a fantasy!
For any young aspiring LEOs tell your sons , daughters whoever wants to be a leo to absolutely jump onto any of those Indiana Depts , if the bears do move , they will need a huge increase in hiring ! and it’s the best in Indiana , your governor , and mayors actually support you and let you chase down the animal .

Taxes are a lot lower in Indiana. -Just sayin' I go to Merrillville for my big grocery trip and fill up the tank. It's worth it.

Maybe the Bears should be talking to Bovino from ICE. If Illinois didn’t have to come up with a billion dollars last year and another billion in 2026 to feed, house, educate and treat medically illegals Illinois would have a billion dollars to fund a new a new Bears stadium.
