Motorcycle?
Once again, the local media making up stories:
A motorcycle crash left a woman dead and a 9-year-old child injured in Englewood Friday night.
Chicago police said two men in a black SUV hit the motorcyclist around 11:20 p.m. in the 6700 block of South Damen Avenue.
The men were driving south on Damen Avenue when their SUV hit the motorcycle traveling east on 67th Street, police said. The men were not injured.
The motorcyclist, a 36-year-old woman, and her 9-year-old child were injured in the crash, police said.
The woman was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead. Her name has not been released.

That's not a motorcycle.
And we're willing to bet it ain't even close to being street legal....not that it was being driven on the street. One emailer says they were racing down the sidewalk before t-boning the SUV who had the green light.

You see this everywhere in Chicago, vehicles that don’t qualify to be on the street, much less the sidewalk under the vehicle code. The electric scooters that can do 30 mph driven down the sidewalks by even grade school kids.

So why was she racing down a sidewalk?
Why are 4-wheelers allowed on sidewalks? I had to dodge one cruising on Rogers Park’s sidewalks and friends had to jump off the path along the lake. Saw one parked next to a tent on LSD, too, so I wonder if someone is giving out ATVs. Are taxpayers buying them?

What a stupid parent. Had she survived, she should have been charged with reckless child endangerment. Problem solved however. One less low IQ voter. Too bad that the reporter that wrote that story will live to write another puff piece. If the quad cycle t boned the vehicle why did the story say that the motorcyclist was struck by the SUV? Cant reporters these days get simple facts straight?

I see those type of vehicles on the bike path . It's one thing to take a chance with your own life but your nine year old. Like the Stones song said, people said she had no chance, no chance. Heaartbreaker!

I am seeing the electric scooters with the grade schoolers all over the suburbs also. Plus no helmets. Kids on bikes have helmets, but scooter riders no.

Ridding an ATV on the sidewalk just like the other good that pulled a gun of police as he drove down the sidewalk and was sent to “Harp-land “by the police.
The other day I saw a Harley rider with a 4 y/o seated behind him along with a 7 y/o behind the 4 y/o. In heavy traffic on Harlem. No helmets, just shorts and a t shirt. It should be illegal, but in Illinois, it's not.

Walking on the sidewalk is totally dangerous downtown with the amount of e bikes,bikes,and scooters and the occasional dirt bikes delivering food. No enforcement at all. Bike lanes all over there and yet all over but the bike lanes. I'm stunned that there aren't more accidents with them.
