Nope, .....I really don't see a pattern here to justify profiling,
do you?

So, to ensure we Americans never offend anyone, particularly the
fanatics intent on killing us, airport security screeners will no longer be allowed to profile certain people. They must conduct random searches of 80-year-old women, little kids, airline pilots with proper identification, Secret Service agents who are members of the President's security detail, 85-year old Congressmen with metal hips, and the late, Medal of Honor winning and former SD Governor Joe Foss, but leave Muslim Males between the ages 17 and 40 alone because of profiling sensitivities

RECOMMENDED READING for Active CPD members who experience RETALIATION for exercising their FIRST AMENDMENT right to FREE SPEECH on a "matter(s) of public concern" in violation of Chapter 42 U.S. Code, Section 1983.

SUPREME COURT CITATIONS:

Connick v. Myers, 461 U.S. 138 (1983)

Pickering v. Board of Education, 391 U.S. 563 (1968)

Mount Healthy City Board of Education v. Doyle, 429 U.S. 274 (1977)

OTHER:

"The Labor Lawyer's Guide to the Rights and Responsibilities of Employee Whistleblowers" - Stephen M. KOHN & Michael D. KOHN, (Quorum Books) See Ch. 5 entitled "Overview of a Whistleblower Claim".

NOTE: Under the Illinois Statute of Limitations, the plaintiff(s) must file the action in U.S. District Court within TWO YEARS of any act(s) of retaliation.

Examples of a "matter of public concern" could be exposing a rigged promotional process ("EXAMSCAM"), political corruption, suppressing a Web/blog site on the Internet, etc.

Document all retaliation and under no circumstances violate a direct order. An act of insubordination could destroy an otherwise excellent case v. the City of Chicago and even lead to lawful separation.

Above all, obtain competent legal counsel, the sooner the better.

Ha ha. But as you are no doubt aware, the USA made restitution where warranted, apologized when necessary and in general, grew morally to better live up to the ideals set forth by the founders. You on the other hand, by the quiz you printed, show a troubling lack of faith in this country to do good at all. Why are you still here? Why haven't you left the country you so hate? Could it be because everything else out there sucks? Sucks really badly? Did you ever wonder why our immigration numbers, both legal and illegal outpace our emmigration numbers by factors of hundreds, if not thousands? This country is still the best thing going in the world for all its faults.

No Lefty, not ignore them and that proves crimefile's point. If a cross is found burning in front of a black church who is EVERYONE going to blame: THE WHITE MAN before the flames go out, let alone any investigation is done and you know this is true.

Re: Litigation vs. City of Chicago for First Amendment violations. (4th post to this thread).

Very interesting, This should be the subject of an FOP newsletter. You can read the three relevant U.S. Supreme Court decisions by using Google or other search engines by separately entering:

Connick & "461 U.S. 138" and
Pickering & "391 U.S. 563" and
Healthy & "429 U.S. 274"

I think every officer, regardless of rank, should be aware of this information.

While I'm certainly no fan of "LeftIsTheBest" aka "Lefty", I am outraged by the above "ANONYMOUS" poster and his racially-devisive comments.
In my lengthy experience with the CPD, I KNOW that both outstanding police officers and citizens alike come in all colors. Remember, as police officers, active or retired, we are all BLUE!

Since "Lefty" refuses to use his identity in his postings, have you considered the possibility that he may well be an agent provocateur. Obviously, you bit his bait.

P.S.: I am of European-American ancestry.

TIME FOR MAYORAL RECALL LEGISLATION

Unlike the City of Chicago, most of our major U.S cities have legislative provisions for a mayoral RECALL. As it stands in Chicago, be it the incumbent or his ultimate successor and barring the unforeseen, the electorate is always stuck with a mayor for a four year term.

A mayoral RECALL process would provide for a petition of registered voters. If a sufficient number of the petitioner signatures are validated by the city clerk, the incumbent mayor would have the option of resigning from office within one week of certification or else face a special RECALL election. Personally, I perceive the incumbent as the far lesser of evils. While his administration is immersed in political corruption, he has done much for Chicago.

Let's face the facts. As long as the snow is shoveled and the garbage is picked up, Chicagoans are well aware that our fair city has a infamous world-wide reputation for generations of political corruption. Sadly, there are even some who actually take a perverse pride in "the Chicago way".

However, with so much political uncertainty on the horizon, I submit that it is now time to implement mayoral RECALL legislation, at least in Illinois cities with a population in excess of 100,000 residents.

To do otherwise could inevitably lead to a political disaster of epic proportions, even for Chicago.

Makes sense, doesn't it?
