Stupid Republican Tricks

It has been said that we are a little "rightward" leaning. Guilty as charged. It has also been said we are apologists for anything republicans do. Not so. We've taken issue with a number of republican positions. Here's another, and if this is true, Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist better resign.

This report in the Washington Post claims that Frist put his stock portfolio in a "blind trust" upon taking office. In this trust were a number of shares in a health care company that were sold a month before the stock nosedived, allegedly on direction from Frist. So this "blind trust" evidently wasn't completely blind as Frist knew what was in it (he has been issuing misleading statements concerning it) AND the fact that he was dumping shares along with other company bigwigs a month before the slide looks a lot like INSIDER TRADING.

So much for Frist's chances in 2008. Maybe he'll even get the Martha Stewart treatment. (story from Captain's Quarter's)

True Dat! I'm a republican only to the extent that they do things that keep the most money away from gov't and in my "disposable income" category (ie. in my pocket). Not true with the "let's throw money at the problem" Democrats). You have to understand that whatever you subsidize - you get more of. The West Side is purely a result of LBJ's Great Society programs - the more money you spend on entitlements; the more people you create who are dependant on welfare. When LBJ's 'secret' tapes were released a few years ago, he was heard to say,"we're going to keep these ni***rs voting Democratic for the next 200 years." That is what the Democrats are all about - using Government funds to keep the 'sheeple' voting for their issues. Truly sickening. The GOP has their own set of problems but, they're the lesser of 2 evils.
If Frist is guilty, then so be it. But Republican is what keeps our USA a well-oiled machine. "And to the Republic, for which it stands" still rings true to my ears.

LBJ? Ha, start with FDR. LBJ and Nixon only exacerbated the problem.

But I'll also True Dat dat. I too am a Republican.

And almost no matter what Frist does, he ain't gonna be a bigger national liability for us than DeLay.

No matter. We find ANYBODY competent to run against Durbin and I'm gonna host fundraisers in several parts of the country. That idiot is the best target for us. Fitzgerald should be able to get the rest of the locals.

I admire all your guys calling out Frist and his ilk for shady dealings and offering no sympathy- as it should be. You'ze "elephants" are the shiz-nit, fo'sho these days... but this is what usually happens the longer one party or the other dominates- corruption flourishes.

Sure- "true `dat"- the Dems typically pander to the "ghetto dewllers" while filling their pockets- but I think that's the lesser of two evils- spread the wealth to the crowd, not to the few already rich fat cats & greedy corporations the Repubs fall over themselves sucking up to. All it really means means we in the "middle" (barely)and are constantly getting screwed by both parties simultaneously. I wish there were a viable alternative... seems not sadly. Let the chips fall where they may re: Frist/DeLay/Abramoff- (what is the potential dollar amount that First is said to have benefitted by massaging the $ale of his H.C.A. stock? Was it near a million like Dubya scammed parachuting out of Harken Energy?)

I'm still waiting for Rove, Libby and the third "official of interest" to get their subpoenas in the "Plamegate" scandal. That person could very well be JOHN "Bully" BOLTON... (he visited Judith Miller in the can recently- probably trying to get his story to jibe with hers) ...they're both going to be indicted with Turd-Blossom & "Scooter"... four of a kind! Go, Fitzgerald, Go! We need ten more like him.

He's a Simpsons' fan. Of course he probably thinks your stupid for not knowing the Simpsons; how sad is that? It sounds like that idiot O'Grady from 023. He posts on here with different names all the time. His posts all the same "I stopped my meds" and "masturbation is my life" feel.

This just in. After Father Tom learned that the IRS is investigating the FOP, he upped his contribution to the Police Chaplains Ministry Fund. From .35 cents per dollar raised to .36 cents per dollar raised.

http://www.catholicnewworld.com/archive/cnw2002/041402/digest.html

He said, "That should shut the Feds up for a while!"

He was asked how a Catholic priest could be making over $110,000 a year. Fr Tom responded, "I know it looks bad that I make twice as much as the police officers I represent. But I'm a crook. I have urges and desires just like any other man. Please don't turn me in to Patrick Fitzgerald. And thank you Northern for sticking up for me."
