Mearday Settlement
We're posting this just because we don't want to be accused of ignoring stories we don't like. Our readers deserve to see these types of stories, if only so they don't end up in the same boat. See stories at Channels 2 (here), 5 (here) and 7 (here) if you care to.
In our opinion, Comito and Thiel didn't get fired for the (alleged) brutality. They got fired for the story afterwards. But we weren't there and neither were 11,000+ other coppers with opinions. All we know is some goof who had no chance to earn $1.75 million dollars in his entire lifetime (short of winning the lottery) is now walking around with our property taxes.

What I hear they screwed up on is not taking the schmuk to a hospital but a fire station. They denied hitting him with a flashlight, but inventoried it. Again, rumors etc. The thing to note is they were not charged with civil rights Violations ( i.e. rodney king ). This is NOT DUE TO JOE " WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU WANT ME TO DO" RODDY, our fuck up F.O.P. atty. Paul Geiger represented them. He impeached all of the schmuks witnesses, insisted on going quickly with the hearing against the cities objections.The police board, except for 2 , read transcripts. The 2 that attemded the hearing sided w/ the P.O's. They were subsequently released from that " honorable " position. Phillis Applebaum, President , Arrow Messenger Service was 1 that sided w/ the police. Geiger saw the writing on the wall. Political crap. His goal was to stop a federal civ rights case. He did his job. My advice. When you get an ops crap case, call the F.O.P. and request him. Roddy is not the one to have represent you even in a simple case. Paul's the guy you can epend on. remember the 011 sodomy case? City settles for 20grand because " it's cheaper than fighten"? where was roddy? Geiger attacks on a defemacion/slander and takes the money for the P/O's. Love that guy !!!
You should be ashamed. Geiger and Bella made their FOP careers from Comito, Theil and Murphy. Everybody forgets Murphy!!! It is totally wrong how Murphy has been treated, but nobody cares because he became a political mytar as did Comito and Theil. However, Bella and Geiger go about their marry ways with their FOP careers each making over $100,000 of FOP money. It is your money. Please speak up.
Forget the FOP flunkies. Get Tom Nedheem.
